TUF Live Finale Medical Suspensions: Michael Chiesa Out for Six Months

TUF Live season winner Michael Chiesa was among the nine fighters to receive medical suspensions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission in the wake of Friday’s The Ultimate Fighter Live Finale.

Following his first-round submission victory over Al Iaquinta, the 24-year-old Chiesa will be sidelined until November 29 with a potential injury to his left hand, although he can return earlier pending X-rays and physician clearance.

Main card fighter Pat Schilling will also be held out until November 29 after suffering possible right hand and right shoulder injuries in his grueling decision loss to Max Holloway. Likewise, Schilling can return early with X-rays and physician clearance, however he must still serve a suspension until July 2 for precautionary reasons.

Welterweight headliner Martin Kampmann and ‘Fight of the Night’ participant John Cofer received suspensions stretching until August 1, with no contact until July 17, for various injuries incurred in their respective bouts.

Five additional fighters from the card received minor suspensions, including defeated headliner Jake Ellenberger, who will be sidelined until July 2 for precautionary reasons.

John Cofer: Suspended until August 1 for precautionary reasons. No contact in training until July 17.
Chris Tickle: Suspended until July 17 for left-eye and lip lacerations. No contact in training until July 2.
Sam Sicilia: Suspended until July 17 for lower-lip cut. No contact in training until July 2.
Cristiano Marcello: Suspended until July 17 for precautionary reasons. No contact in training until July 2.
Jeremy Larsen: Suspended until July 17 for precautionary reasons. No contact in training until July 2.
Jake Ellenberger: Suspended until July 2 for precautionary reasons. No contact in training until June 23.
