The welterweight finale for the TUF Smashes: Australia vs. UK was determined on television yesterday, pitting Team Australia fighter Robert Whittaker (9-2) against Team UK fighter Bradley Scott (8-1).

The two will meet at the reality shows finale, UFC on FX: Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson which is expected to take place on December 15, 2012 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Australia. Coaches for the show, Australian George Sotiropoulos and Brit Ross Pearson, headline the FX television event.

Before joining the TUF series Whittaker was 2-1 in his last three and 2-2 in his last four matches. His last official pro fight took place in May of this year at a Cage Fighting Championship event which saw Whittaker lose by decision to Jesse Juarez. His last victory came in March, with a first round TKO finish over Shaun Spooner at a Superfight Australia show.

In the TUF: The Smashes house Whittaker earned wins against Luke Newman and Xavier Lucas to move into the final.

I couldn’t find anything on Scott, so I’ve had to use the MMAWeekly.com’s breakdown of the UK fighter.

In the other corner is Bradley Scott, who currently rides a six-fight winning streak with an 8-1 record. His most recent win before the TUF series was on the CWFC Fight Night 4 card in Dubai, where he won with a third round stoppage. In the house, he has picked up decision wins over Xavier Lucas and Ben Alloway.
