On Tuesday afternoon, the Nevada State Athletic Commission finally doled out punishments for the post-fight brawl that went down following the Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov title fight at UFC 229 in October 2018.

Their ruling: a six month suspension and $50,000 fine for McGregor, and a nine month suspension plus $500,000 fine for Nurmagomedov. Also suspended for a year and fined $25,000 each were Khabib teammates Zubaira Tukhugov and Abubakar Nurmagomedov, who participated in the fracas.

Those last suspensions are extra relevant now that Khabib Nurmagomedov has announced via his manager that he refuses to fight until his team can fight as well. He now plans on returning in November 2019, preferably at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Khabib Time!

All this news sent shockwaves through the MMA community to the point where few people even bothered to write angry tweets about Jon Jones. He was also in front of the commission over his incredibly long lasting oral Turinabol metabolites, but who cares about that? Let’s take a look at what fighters, coaches, managers, and media members had to say about the McGregor and Khabib punishments.
