Today’s ceremony was held at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif. The same venue hosts Saturday’s pay-per-view event.
Thousands of fans filled the venue as UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva and fellow UFC 117 co-headliner Chael Sonnen both made weight for the event. The rivals wrapped up their final pre-fight confrontation with an entertaining staredown – though Silva’s gaze was focused somewhere in the crowd rather than on his opponent.
