Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White has been saying over the past week that Saturday’s UFC 124: St-Pierre vs. Koscheck II event would be the biggest in the promotions history.

At the post-fight press conference, White confirmed his prediction noting that a total of 23,152 fans filed into the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to watch UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre successfully defend his title against opponent Josh Koscheck in the main event. The record attendance failed to secure the top spot for gate revenue for a UFC event bringing in $4.586 million.

The top earner for gate revenue still holds at $5,397,300 with UFC 66 back in December of 2006.
