The January 1st UFC 125: Resolution card has added another bout to the lineup with a welterweight tilt between Daniel Roberts (11-1) and Greg Soto (8-1) who will fight on the unaired portion of the event.
The news was broken by Roberts who posted the message on his Twitter page overnight.
I FIGHT GREG SOTO JAN.1st @ UFC 125 @ MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas, Nevada
UFC 125: Resolution is set for New Years Day at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and is headlined by a UFC lightweight title bout between champion Frankie Edgar versus #1 contender Gray Maynard.
Roberts has won his past two since dropping his UFC debut and his first professional loss back in March. He last appeared at UFC 121 earning the “Submission of the Night” award by forcing opponent Mike Guymon to tap from an anaconda choke in the first round. He earned a split decision over Forrest Ptez at UFC 116 and was KO’d by John Howard at UFC Live: Vera vs. Jones in his debut.
Soto, meanwhile, finds himself in a similar situation having dropped his UFC debut but bouncing back with a win putting him at a 1-1 record with the promotion. He earned a unanimous decision over Nick Osipczak at UFC 116 in August and lost by disqualification do to an illegal upkick at UFC 111 against Matt Riddle.
