UFC 129: John Makdessi vs. Kyle Watson, Not Jonathan Brookins

Makdessi will instead face Kyle Wtason (13-6-1), another fighter from last seasons “TUF 12″ series. Both fighters have agreed to meet at the upcoming UFC 129 event but contracts have yet to be finalized. Their bout will like take place on the preliminary card.

The undefeated Canadian, Makdessi, made his UFC debut in December at the UFC 124 event in Montreal. He earned a unanimous decision against Pat Audinwood at the event to win his eighth straght fight. So far “The Bull” has won six of those victories by TKO and the other two by unanimous decision with various Canadian promotions.

Watson made his UFC debut last month also against fellow “TUF 12″ housemate Sako Chivitchian at the “TUF 12 Finale” in Las Vegas. Watson lost to team-mate Jonathan Brookins in the semi-finals of the show. His win in December was his fifth straight professional victory and his seventh in eight fights. Watson has fought for several different organizations before landing a spot on “The Ultimate Fighter.”

UFC 129 will take place on April 30th at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario and will be headlined by a UFC welterweight title bout between champion Georges St-Pierre and challenger Jake Shields.
