UFC lightweight Sam ‘Hands of Stone’ Stout (17-6-1) has withdrawn from his upcoming UFC 137 bout versus German based fighter, Dennis ‘The Menace’ Siver (19-7).

News of the change surfaced at MMAjunkie.com on Monday after they learned of Stout’s withdrawal from sources close to the Canadian.

No reason was provided for Stout’s withdrawal but the recent loss of his longtime trainer, friend, and brother-in-law, Shawn Tompkins, might certainly be a factor.

UFC 137 is expected to take place on October 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. No news of a replacement for Stout has surfaced at time of writing.

Stout has won two straight and is 4-1 in his last five bouts. In that stretch he’s earned four “Fight Night” bonuses, earning a “Knockout of the Night” in his last fight at UFC 131 by stopping Yves Edwards cold in the first round. ‘Hands of Stone’ also won three straight “Fight of the Night” bonuses, beginning with his 4-1 stretch beating Matt Wiman and Joe Lauzon, while losing to Jeremy Stephens.

Siver has won four straight and is 8-1 in his last nine matches. His last victory took place last month on the main card of UFC 132, where he earned a unanimous decision over Matt Wiman at the Las Vegas event. The other three victories in his current win streak are over George Sotiropoulos at UFC 127, Andre Winner at UFC 122, and Spencer Fisher at the TUF 11 Finale.
