Along with the other bout announcements made on Tuesday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship promotion also added a welterweight bout to their upcoming UFC 143 event in Las Vegas. Former season seven “TUF” winner Amir Sadollah (5-3) is set to meet Wand Fight team prospect Jorge ‘Lil’ Monster’ Lopez (11-2) in February.
Verbal agreements are in for a welterweight matchup between two exciting strikers as Wanderlei Silva protégé Jorge Lopez takes on Ultimate Fighter winner Amir Sadollah at UFC 143.
UFC 143 is expected to take place on February 4th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will host a welterweight title fight between UFC champ Georges St-Pierre and former Strikeforce champ, Nick Diaz.
Sadollah had his last fight in August, losing a unanimous decision to Duane Ludwig at the UFC on Versus 5 event. The defeat ended a two fight win streak which saw the “TUF” winner defeat DaMarques Johnson at UFN 24 and Peter Sobotta at UFC 122.
Lopez debuted with the UFC this past September, losing a unanimous decision to Justin Edwards at the New Orleans event. The loss was ‘Lil’Monster’s’ first defeat in eleven straight bouts, which saw the Wand Fight team fighter win ten straight dating back to March 2008, before the loss to Edwards.
