LAS VEGAS — This is the UFC 148 live blog for Ivan Menjivar vs. Mike Easton, a bantamweight bout on Saturday night’s UFC event at the MGM Grand.
Menjivar, who has won all three of his fights in the UFC, will fight Easton, who has won his two UFC fights, on the main card.

Round 1: Josh Rosenthal gives us the signal and, as expected, Easton is a frenzy of movement right off the bat. Menjivar tests the waters with kicks both low and high, but neither stops Easton’s forward momentum. Menjivar misses a spinning backfist. We’ve seen him fall in love with that move to his detriment before. Easton seems displeased with Menjivar’s strategy of retreat, and doesn’t hesitate to tell him so. More kicks and the threat of spinning attacks from Menjivar, but he can’t find a way through Easton’s defenses and all this backing away probably doesn’t look good for the judges. Easton makes a tentative grab for a takedown in the final ten seconds, but time runs out on him. The fans are not impressed so far. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for Easton.
