The Calgary Combative Sports Commission has changed the results of this summer’s UFC 149 winners, welterweight Matt Riddle (7-3) and featherweight Francisco Rivera (9-2), to a “No Contest” result following a failed drug test by both fighters.

Just a few days ago, news surfaced that Riddle had tested positive for marijuana and that Rivera had tested positive for an over-the-counter stimulant, following drug tests after this summer’s UFC 149 event.

Both fighters were given 90-day retroactive suspensions, with no word at the time whether the results would be overturned or not.

MMAjunkie.com confirmed the “Non Contest” results with the CCSC on Saturday.

“It was the Commission’s decision to amendment (sic) the results of both bouts these individuals participated in to No Contest because of the positive test results and those amendments have been filed accordingly.”

UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao took place on July 21, 2012 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary marking the promotions first trip to the city and the Province of Alberta.

The promotion released a statement on the incident on Friday via UFC.com.

Zuffa, LLC, owner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship®, released a statement today regarding UFC welterweight Matt Riddle and featherweight Francisco Rivera:

“We’ve been informed by the Calgary Combative Sports Commission that Matt Riddle and Francisco Rivera tested positive for banned substance following their bouts at UFC 149. UFC has a strict, consistent policy against the use of banned drugs and performance-enhancing stimulants, including the requirement that all incoming athletes be tested and cleared. Therefore, we fully support the drug testing efforts of the Calgary Combative Sports Commission and will fully cooperate with the Commission regarding this matter.”

Riddle had earned a third round submission victory against Chris Clements on the main card, while Rivera finished Roland Delorme via first round knockout on the nights preliminary card.
