Ultimate Fighting Officials continue to add bouts to the growing UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen card as lightweight fighters Joe Proctor (8-2) and Al Iaquinta (5-2-1) have been named as opponents for the April event.
The promotion confirmed the news on Twitter Thursday (@UFC) afternoon.
UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen is expected to take place on April 27, 2013 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The event has grown to eight bouts for the pay-per-view show. The bout between Proctor and Iaquinta is certain to appear on either the FX or Facebook prelim broadcast.
Proctor was a member of Team Cruz on season fifteen of TUF, losing early in the reality show series but still able to make his Octagon debut at the TUF 15 Finale. At the Las Vegas event Proctor won his fourth straight pro-match by stopping opponent Jeremy Larson via first round knockout.
Iaquinta also appeared on season 15 of TUF as a member Team Faber, battling his way into the finals. At the Finale, Iaquinta would lose to Michael Chesa after getting choked unconscious in the first round. It was Iaquinta’s second straight pro-loss.
