Welterweights Nick ‘The Jersey Devil’ Catone (9-4) and James Head (9-3) will reportedly square off at UFC 159 in New Jersey this coming
April.

News of the matchup was announced by MMAjunkie.com on Wednesday evening after confirming the bout with “sources close to the event.”

UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen is expected to be held on April 27, 2013 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. With several key-bouts already named to the event, the Catone vs. Head match is certain to appear on the prelim card on television or on Facebook.

Catone made his welterweight debut last month at the TUF 16 Finale, only to lose by technical submission to TJ Waldburger who put Catone to sleep in the second round with a triangle choke. It was the second straight loss for ‘The Jersey Devil’ who was stopped by Chris Camozzi at UFC on FX 4 in June after Camozzi opened up Catone’s forehead with a knee. Catone earned his last win in March 2011 at UFC 128 with a decision win over Costa Philippou.

Head is also looking to turn things around having been dropped by Mike Pyle via TKO at the same TUF Finale last month. The loss ended Head’s two fight win streak which saw him earn a split decision against Brian Ebersole at UFC 149 and a submission win against Papy Abedi at UFC on FUEL TV 2 in Sweden this past April. That bout marked Head’s welterweight debut in the Octagon after losing his UFC debut to Nick Ring in June 2011 at UFC 131 by submission in a middleweight bout.
