A pair of light heavyweights have been reported as opponents for this August’s upcoming UFC 163 event in Vinny Magalhães (10-6, 1NC) and Anthony ‘The Hippo’ Perosh (13-7).
Brazilian MMA website AtaqueTotal.com reported the bout on Wednesday and was later Tweeted by Magalhaes.
UFC 163: Aldo vs. Pettis is expected to take place on August 3, 2013 at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The event will see UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo defend his title against the #2 ranked lightweight Anthony Pettis.
Magalhães saw his six fight win streak come to an end after a decision loss to Phil Davis last month in New Jersey at UFC 159. Prior to that the submission ace made a triumphant return to the Octagon by submitting Igor Pokrajac at UFC 153 in Toronto.
In his second run with the top promotion Perosh is 3-2 with his last bout coming back in July 2012, losing in just 7-seconds to Ryan Jimmo via KO at UFC 149. ‘The Hippo’ earned his last win in March 2012 after stopping Canadian Nick enner by first round TKO at UFC on FX 2.
