Conor McGregor and Chad Mendes pocketed the highest salaries following Saturday’s UFC 189 in Las Vegas.
The pair of featherweights, who battled for the interim title at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, scored a $500,000 payday each. McGregor stopped Mendes with punches with seconds left in the second round, and will now face undisputed 145-pound champion Jose Aldo.
In the co-main event, welterweight champion Robbie Lawler earned $300,000 for his fifth-round TKO victory over Rory MacDonald, who was paid $59,000.
The highest salary in the preliminary card belonged to Matt Brown, who earned $92,000 for his first-round submission victory over Tim Means.
Lawler, McDonald, McGregor and Thomas Almedia also earned $50,000 bonuses on top of their salaries.
