The fighter salaries for UFC 197 were released on Monday and oh did the UFC have to pay a chunk of cash to the top level fighters on this card.
Jon Jones earned $500,000 for defeating Ovince Saint for the interim UFC light heavyweight title in the main event. “OSP” earned $55,000. Demetrious Johnson earned $195,000 for defeating Henry Cejudo, who earned $60,000, to retain his flyweight title in the co-main event.
UFC 197 took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 23rd, 2016. The main card aired on pay-per-view while the prelims aired on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
