UFC 208: Anderson Silva vs Derek Brunson set for Feb. 11 in Brooklyn

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Anderson Silva will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon next month when he tangles with 185-pound rising star Derek Brunson.

They’ll do the deed at the UFC 208: “Holm vs. De Randamie” pay-per-view (PPV) event, locked and loaded for Sat., Feb. 11, 2016 inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York (more on that fight card here).

Silva (33-8, 1 NC) hasn’t won a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight in over four years, thanks to a No Contest sandwiched between a dreadful 0-4 run. He was last seen playing the role of sacrificial lamb to light heavyweight kingpin Daniel Cormier at UFC 200.

Is normal.

Brunson (16-4), riding high on a five-fight winning streak with four finishes, was oh-so-close to securing a division title shot before running into the fists of Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night 101 last November.

Squishing “The Spider” can get him right back into the thick of things.

UFC 208 will be headlined by an inaugural women’s featherweight title fight between former bantamweight queenpin Holly Holm and 145-pound bruiser Germaine de Randamie. Elsewhere on the card, Travis Browne and Derrick Lewis hook ‘em up in heavyweight action.

Fun!
