UFC 214 midweek betting odds: Jon Jones clearly favored over Daniel Cormier

The betting odds are in for UFC 214 as Jon Jones is the solid favorite over the UFC’s light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.

UFC 214 is right around the corner and Bloody Elbow has all of the midweek betting odds at the ready. The highly anticipated light heavyweight title rematch is upon, as the champion Daniel Cormier (+235) looks to defend his crown against the returning Jon Jones (-255). The co-main event for UFC 214 will involve a welterweight title fight between the champ Tyron Woodley (-220) and the #1 contender Demian Maia (+180).

It is no surprise that the widest odds on the evening belong to Cristiane Justino, better known as Cris Cyborg, who clocks in at a staggering -1300 to the card’s heftiest underdog, Tanya Evinger, at a whopping +850. The pick’em bout on deck for UFC 214 has Ricardo Lamas (-125 to +105) being found at both plus and minus lines, as he squares off with Jason Knight (-125 to +100), who predominantly sports a favorite tag, but can still be found at dog odds on a few betting sites.

Saturday’s UFC 214 main card will air live on Pay-Per-View at 10:00 P.M. ET with the prelims starting at 8:00 P.M. ET on FX. The Exclusive Fight Pass prelims will begin at 6:30 P.M. ET.

Aljamain Sterling vs. Renan Barao: Bantamweight

The UFC’s former bantamweight king Renan Barao (+115) began his UFC 214 betting life with a favorite tag of -130, and has steadily creeped into underdog territory, where he now resides. Aljamain Sterling opened up at a smaller favorite tag of -110, but has drifted slightly further down the minus line to around -135.

**There has not been a ton of UFC 214 betting line movement, as of yet, but that will likely change as we approach weigh ins and fight day.

Suggestions:

Tyron Woodley vs. Demian Maia: Welterweight Title

Who out-grapples Tyron Woodley? Jake Shields, you say? Shields was able to clinch Woodley up against the cage, you say? True, but Shields was chipping away the whole time with knees to the body. Demian Maia can definitely clinch up with Woodley against the fence, but to expect Maia to be scoring with strikes in the process seems to be a bit of a stretch. This is the 1st time Maia has faced one-punch KO power in a really long time, and hasn’t gone 5 rounds in over 2 years. Tyron Woodley @ anything under -200 is solid pick.

Be sure to check back in with Bloody Elbow to catch the final betting odds on fight day, as the moneylines tend to shift a bit following the weigh-ins. All of your event coverage including play-by-play, results, highlights, and more can be found right here at BloodyElbow.com. Happy hunting!
