Tweet of the Day: Here’s TJ Dillashaw’s reaction to the cancellation of UFC 215 main event.
After Cody Garbrandt pulled out due to injury earlier in the year, T.J. Dillashaw campaigned for a flyweight title bout against Demetrious Johnson instead. The top pound-for-pound fighter eventually declined that match up for various reasons.
Mainly, Johnson cited a lot of issues with the UFC, and the way they handled negotiations, but he also mentioned that Dillashaw has yet to make the 125 lb mark. He stated that weight issues could’ve put the bout on jeopardy, which ironically, may have been part of why the UFC 215 main event was just cancelled.
Ray Borg got ill and had to pull out of the match up with “Mighty Mouse”, and Dillashaw took to social media to react to the news.

If you’re having trouble viewing the tweet, Dillashaw only needed three kinds of emojis to sum up his thoughts: A facepalm, a mouse, and money flying away.
While Dillashaw vs Johnson would’ve been a much more appealing fight, it’s hard to blame DJ for it all, based on his detailed account of how they forced him into both match ups on not-so-favorable terms. It’s just unfortunate that things happened outside of his control, and it did not end well for him.
Johnson presumably was ready to make weight and break the all-time UFC record for title defenses, but hopefully the match up can be rescheduled on the next pay-per-view.
As for Dillashaw, he still got what he actually deserves, which is a title shot in his own division a couple of months from now.
