Check out the second episode of Embedded for UFC 223.

UFC 223 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the second episode for this weekend’s big show in Brooklyn, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the newly-designed card.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is sitting at the airport with Mike Brown, waiting to leave for New York. They both react to Holloway being added to the headliner, and Joanna says she thought it was an April Fool’s Day joke too at first.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is in New York and said he was stressing all day until they found him an opponent. He walks into Renzo’s gym on a snowy day, taking care about where he walks. “Don’t slip like Tony Ferguson,” he says. Ouch.

Joanna and her team spray each other with water guns in the hotel, which is some sort of Polish post-Easter tradition. In one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on an Embedded episode, Mike Brown tries to spray someone as he gets close to the top of an escalator and completely trips and falls when the thing gets to the top, while Joanna screams and laughs.

Rose Namajunas shows off some gardening and training techniques. Pat Barry throws tennis balls at her and she punches them. Their dog loves the game, obviously.

Khabib does an episode of UFC Unfiltered with Matt Serra and Jim Norton. He says that if he gets an early submission on Max Holloway, that’s a good night for Holloway because he won’t catch a beating for the full 25 minutes.

Holloway arrives in New York, and it’s freezing again. He’s not a fan. He asks his Canadian friends to come down to support him. He wants to fight the best in any weight class, and basically wants to make history.

In a very odd situation, Holloway shows up to run on a machine with Khabib’s team surrounding him. As he leaves, he tells Khabib it’s an honor to fight him, and Khabib thanks him for taking the fight. He then takes a page out of Gennady Golovkin’s quote book (with credit, of course).

“Big drama show, baby!”
