Here’s the fight card and bout order for UFC 227: Dillashaw vs. Garbrandt 2, set for August 4th in Los Angeles, California.
There are only two UFC shows in August, and the first one is on the 4th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. We have two rematches for title fights, as bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw takes on bitter rival Cody Garbrandt once again. Dillashaw knocked Garbrandt out in a thrilling bout at UFC 217, and Garbrandt has been granted an immediate rematch.
The co-main event is flyweight champion and all-time great Demetrious Johnson battling Henry Cejudo, whom “Mighty Mouse” TKO’d in April 2016. Cejudo has looked mostly outstanding since the loss to Johnson… but Demetrious has also been superb over the past two years, so will this fight be any more competitive the second go-round?
This is a bit of a weird PPV, as the last-minute Thiago Santos vs. Kevin Holland booking represents the only fight above the featherweight limit. Presumably this was to replace Alexander Gustafsson vs. Volkan Oezdemir, but still… this is a night for the lighter weight classes.
