Marlon Vera produced another highlight-reel finish earlier tonight (Sat., July 6, 2019) at UFC 239 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he finished Octagon newcomer Nohelin Hernandez via second-round submission (rear-naked choke).
In what was an unexpected back-and-forth affair for the majority of the fight, Vera was able to win the transitions and exchanges that mattered most. During a scramble on the ground in the second round “Chito” was able score some solid punches from top control before locking in the finishing submission.

With this performance, Vera locks down his fourth-straight victory and finish in the UFC’s stacked bantamweight division. The 26-year-old contender may have fought an inexperienced newcomer on short notice but Vera continues to prove that he’s one of the best finishers in the division. Look for him to land a top 10 opponent his next time out.
