Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis will be back in the limelight tomorrow night (Sat., Aug. 17, 2019) at UFC 241 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., when he welcomes back Nate Diaz from a three-year absence in the co-main event of the evening.
This will be a huge opportunity for “Showtime” to build off of his recent knockout victory over former UFC welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson back in March. Should Pettis provide another spectacular performance this weekend against the ultra-popular Diaz in his long-awaited return to the Octagon it’s going to boost the veteran to new heights moving forward.
In advance to Pettis vs. Diaz, UFC has released the greatest Octagon finishes in the career of “Showtime,” which can be seen in the above video player. From his aforementioned stunner against “Wonderboy” to his submission victory over Benson Henderson to win the UFC lightweight strap back in 2013, Pettis has produced some of the very best stoppages in recent memory.
Only time will tell if “Showtime” can add Diaz to this list. But considering the Stockton native has been stopped just once through 22 total UFC fights Pettis is going to have his work cut out for him.
