The action delivered as anticipated earlier today (Sat., Sept. 7, 2019) at UFC 242 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside The Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, as undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov made easy work of interim king Dustin Poirier via third-round submission (HIGHLIGHTS HERE).
In addition to the title fight headliner, lightweight strikers Edson Barboza and Paul Felder threw down in a bloody co-main event rematch with “Irish Dragon” edging out a split decision, heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes laid waste to Russian veteran Shamil Abdurakhimov via second-round TKO, Octagon newcomer Ottman Azaitar made good on his lightweight debut with a monstrous knockout win over Teemu Packalen, welterweight mainstay Belal Muhammad secured his first career submission win after taking out Takashi Sato in the early “Prelims” headliner, and welterweight knockout artist Muslim Salikhov dominated Canadian veteran Nordine Taleb with a nasty first-round knockout finish.
