Israel Adesanya cashed in big time last night (Sat., Oct. 5, 2019) at UFC 243 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, when he smothered UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker to finish him in the second round via brutal knockout (see it HERE).
In addition to the main event finish, rising heavyweight contender Sergey Spivak made his mark with an upset submission finish over “Bam Bam” Tai Tuivasa, heavyweight newcomer Yorgan De Castro made a memorable Octagon debut with a vicious knockout finish over Justin Tafa, bantamweight prospect Khalid Taha opened up the “Prelims” card with an impressive submission finish over a BJJ black belt, former Invicta FC women’s featherweight champion Megan Anderson captured a quick first-round submission win in her return to Australia, and lightweight newcomers Brad Riddell and Jamie Mullarkey put on one hell of a show in a bloody way of attrition.
