On the UFC 246 main card, Aleksei Oleinik submitted Maurice Greene, and Brian Kelleher choked out Ode Osbourne.

The UFC 246 main card is underway and the company’s #12 ranked heavyweight Aleksei Oleinik just submitted Maurice Greene in the second round. Oleinik leaned on his grappling to take the fight into his world, and ultimately come up with the finish. The win snapped a two-fight losing skid and the Russian gets to keep his place in the rankings.

Before that, Brian Kelleher picked up a sweet first round guillotine on UFC newcomer Ode Osbourne. Kelleher got the takedown, and then once he grabbed ahold of the choke, it was only a matter of time. The win gets Kelleher back into the win column, bringing his UFC record to 4-3.

Main card:

Aleksei Oleinik def. Maurice Greene by submission (Armbar) at 4:38 of round 2: Heavyweight

Greene was dropped right off the bat but allowed Oleinik to stand up. Oleinik closed the distance and brought the fight to the ground. Greene found himself stuck on the bottom. Greene threatened with a triangle on a few attempts, and then exploded up to his feet. Oleinik brought the fight right back to the ground. He went hard for a scarf choke, but Greene held on until the bell. Oleinik came out labored for the second round. Greene was letting his strikes go but Oleinik kept trucking. Despite being gassed, Oleinik got himself a takedown. Greene was trapped on the bottom, unable to get back to his feet. With about a minute remaining in the round, Oleinik rolled for an armbar and after a slight struggle, forced the tap!

Brian Kelleher def. Ode Osbourne by submission (Guillotine) at 2:49 of round 1: Bantamweight

Kelleher got himself an early takedown to start the bout. Osbourne was caught on the bottom with few answers. Kelleher locked up a guillotine choke with an arm-in, and then dropped back into full guard. He had one of Osbourne’s arm trapped in the guard. All Osbourne could do was tap out with his foot. Wow!
