The action delivered on arrival last night (Sat., Feb. 8, 2020) at UFC 247 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, as Jon Jones locked down his 14th-straight title win after taking out Dominick Reyes in the main event via unanimous decision.
In addition to Jones’ victory over “Devastator,” reigning UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko cemented herself yet again as one of the best fighters in the world with a third-round TKO stoppage over top contender Katlyn Chookagian. The event also spit out finishes such as Justin Tafa’s vicious knockout win over heavyweight prospect Juan Adams, Kalinn Williams’ 27-second debut win over veteran Alex Morono, Journey Newson’s first-round TKO finish over Houston’s own Domingo Pilarte, and Mario Bautista’s unexpected TKO victory over previously undefeated prospect Miles Johns. Not to mention last-second replacement James Krause narrowly losing a close split decision in an entertaining war with middleweight Trevin Giles.
