UFC 250 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the first episode for this weekend’s “big” show in UFC Apex, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.

We start off at the UFC Performance Institute with Aljamain Sterling. His coach is wearing a mask. AlJo talks about the crazy depth of the bantamweight division right now. He’s ready to earn his title shot by beating Cory Sandhagen on Saturday.

We head over to McCarran airport, where former champ Cody Garbrandt is arriving. He’s focused. The only difference is no fans and no time with his family, since they usually come to his fights. He talks about how to train with no gyms open. Coach Chris Holdsworth discusses having fighters in Jacksonville, and how it was to fight with no fans and during the COVID stuff.

Garbrandt heads straight to Xtreme Couture with Mark Henry to get a workout in. He discusses all the trials and tribulations of the last three years – from champ to a losing streak, with all the injuries. He says he’s headed back up.

Amanda Nunes arrives at the airport. With Nina Ansaroff, of course. She likes that there’s not much media to do for this, she just has to make weight and fight. Felicia Spencer arrives at the fighter hotel. She tries on her fight gloves, and is really excited to fight for the title. Nunes gets the temperature check at the hotel. She has a mask on.

Sandhagen arrives and goes through the same process. He was nervous about the pandemic messing with his ability to fight a top guy, but he’s happy that he got Sterling. Raphael Assuncao is next, and basically echoes what others have said. But they gave him a UFC Fight Island shirt! That’s funny. Assuncao said a lot of his early career was fought in front of really small crowds, so the empty arena doesn’t faze him at all.

And that’s it! UFC 250 goes down this Saturday night in UFC Apex.
