Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are back to breakdown the ‘UFC 256: ‘FIGUEIREDO VS. MORENO’ event, which was broadcast from Las Vegas, Nevada’s #UFCAPEX Center. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall events in the player above, or on our Bloody Elbow Presents YouTube Channel and BE Presents Podcast Network. (SPOILERS…)

Tonight, Saturday, December 12th, 2020, in the main event of UFC 256, we had a battle, an all out war for the UFC Flyweight Championship, featuring Deiveson Figueiredo with a 20-1 record, taking on ‘The Assassin Baby’ – Brandon Moreno, the favorite, with a 18-5 record. In our co-main event, we had fight veterans Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson and Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira squaring off against one another for the full three rounds, ending in a Decision win for Oliveira.

Overall, this 10-bout card saw three swift finishes in Round 1, one submission, five exciting KO/TKO’s, three decisions, and the main event ending in a Majority Draw. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Kevin Holland and Rafael Fiziev; FOTN honors went to ‘Figueiredo vs. Moreno’, which some are calling an easy candidate for FOTY. What a night of fights we have to share with you!

Also on the card, we had an exciting women’s Strawweight bout between up-and-comer Mackenzie Dern and the Brazilian brawler Virna ‘Carcara’ Jandiroba. Dern was coming at this on a two-fight win streak, having had defeated both Randa Markos and Hannah Cifers this year. While Jandiroba was also entering the octagon off a two-fight win streak, having defeated Felice Herrig and Mallory Martin in the past year. As if that’s not enough, we also had an enthralling match-up between Kevin ‘Trailblazer’ Holland and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza at Middleweight. Perhaps this will have been the final card for Junior dos Santos, who was matched up against the undefeated 30-year old Ciryl Gane in our main event opener; which was preceded by a fully-packed undercard with two sets of prelims. Join us to discuss all the action…
