Check out the fifth episode of Embedded for UFC 257.

UFC 257 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the fifth episode for this weekend’s big show on Fight Island, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.

Like the last episode, we start off in Michael Chandler’s room. He says he’s ahead of schedule on his weight cut. He’s in one of those pink spongebob-looking portable saunas, and he’s excited for what’s about to happen. Over in Dan Hooker’s room, he’s watching the Wednesday event and viewing it as a fighter and a coach. He’s a big fan of Neil Magny as a fighter and a person.

We head over to Amanda Ribas’ room. Her coach says it’s her best camp ever, no injuries. The fight is the fun part for her after all the training. She’s very upbeat. Her coaches talk her up.

Super high-end cars are approaching, which can only mean one thing – Conor McGregor. With his daughter. Dustin Poirier is talking about the Chandler/Hooker fight, saying how great it’s going to be and pointing out some possible scenarios with his team.

It’s press conference time. Conor is asked what motivates him. He feels like he’s still new in the game. Poirier is trying to prove something, to make the hard work pay off. Chandler says he’s seen a lot of growth in Conor since he became a father. Hooker says he’s only there because everyone else turned Chander down. “Charlie Olives says he can’t make the weight” made me laugh. Conor says Poirier is the toughest lightweight available.

Both face-offs are surprisingly respectable. The small crowd is chanting for Conor and singing. Backstage, Conor greets Daniel Cormier. DC says it’s the first time they’ve seen each other since 2015. All respect. And here we are.

UFC 257 goes down very soon on Fight Island!
