The heavyweights delivered as advertised earlier tonight (Sat., Feb. 22, 2020) at UFC Fight Night 168 live on ESPN+ from inside Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, as Brazilian veteran Marcos Rogerio de Lima finished New Zealand’s own Ben Sosoli via first-round TKO (punches).
Both heavyweights came out slinging and landed good shots early. Sosoli wasn’t protecting himself all that much and it started to really cost him as de Lima clipped him with a variety of power shots. A three-piece combination along the cage capped by a short right hand eventually toppled “Combat Wombat” and allowed de Lima to find the finish he was looking for.

With this performance, de Lima gets back into the win column after getting submitted by Stefan Struve one year ago and now has four UFC knockouts to his name. The Brazilian veteran hasn’t won back-to-back fights inside of the Octagon since 2014, but maybe he can put an end to that streak his next time out here in 2020.
