No such thing as a time off for CB Dollaway.
Less than a week after defeating Cezar Ferreira at UFC Fight Night 38 in Natal, Brazil, Dollaway already has a new opponent in his crosshairs in the form of Francis Carmont. The UFC UK announced that the middleweight clash will go down as the co-main event for the UFC’s visit to Berlin on May 31.
Previous to his victory over “Mutante,” Dollaway had won two of his last three bouts, with the lone loss coming against Tim Boetsch in a controversial split decision at UFC 166, This will mark the second fight in a row in which Dollaway will show up in the co-main event. His fight against the highly-touted Daniel Sarafien back in January 2013 was also a co-main.
Montreal’s Carmont, who trains at the Tristar Gym with Georges St-Pierre and Firas Zahabi, had his 11-fight win streak snapped in February against Ronaldo Souza in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil. Though he didn’t score a victory against “Jacare,” he made it a more interesting fight than bookmakers were projecting, ultimately losing a unanimous decision.
UFC Berlin — also known as UFC Fight Night 41 — will feature a headlining bout between Mark Munoz and Gegard Mousasi. Other bouts officially announced for the UFC’s return to Germany include a middleweight bout between England’s Luke Barnatt against Sean Strickland, as well as a Pawal Pawlak versus Peter Sobotta in a welterweight fight.
The event will take place May 31 at the O2 World Berlin.
