Middleweight prospect Brendan Allen made the most out of his Octagon debut earlier tonight (Fri., Oct. 18, 2019) at UFC on ESPN 6 from inside TD Garden in Boston, Mass., when he submitted streaking veteran Kevin Holland via rear-naked choke in the second round.
Allen certainly didn’t make things easy in this fight as Holland opened up a big cut above his eye in the first, but the young middleweight regained momentum in the second round when he took Holland’s back during a scramble. Allen methodically worked for a rear-naked choke as Holland tried to defend but “All In” wasn’t going to be denied.

With this performance, Allen makes a big splash at 185 pounds in his debut as Holland was riding an impressive three-fight win streak. The 23-year-old Allen is extremely talented and clearly has some serious grappling skills, but only time will tell how quickly he can evolve his game against the best competition in the world. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful start to a promising UFC career.
