As the second round of a solid, back-and-forth matchup between New Zealand’s Dylan Andrews and Atlanta native Clint Hester entered the latter stages, it became readily apparent something was wrong with Andrews’ right arm.

The injury fears were confirmed between the second and third round: Andrews had a dislocated shoulder and couldn’t continue in their UFC Fight Night 33 bout.

The fight went into the books as a TKO victory for Hester over his former Ultimate Fighter 17 teammate in Brisbane, Australia.

Up until that point, it was an entertaining scrap. Hester, who was the first pick of Team Jones on TUF 17, came out swinging and cracked Andrews several times. But Andrews, the team’s final pick, rallied late and scored a pair of takedowns to likely steal the round.

Hester got his bearing back in round two, winning the round both standing and on the ground. But the end came with Andrews threw a right hand and had it deflected by Hester in a way which clearly dislocated Andrews’ shoulder. While he was game in finishing the round, he was in no condition to continue.

Hester improved to 9-3 with is fifth straight win; Andrews dropped to 17-5 with one no-contest and had a six-fight win streak snapped.
