Tim Boetsch snatched victory from the jaws of defeat on Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 47, knocking out Brad Tavares with a thrilling second-round salvo that earned the middleweight veteran his first career ‘Performance of the Night’ post-fight bonus.
UFC President Dana White announced the recipients of the $50,000 awards following the conclusion of the night’s festivities, which took place at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.
The evening’s other ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus went to Thiago Tavares, a former lightweight who viciously ran through Robbie Peralta en route to a first-round rear-naked choke victory in his impressive featherweight debut.
In addition, UFC newcomer Alan Jouban and welterweight veteran Seth Baczynski each secured ‘Fight of the Night’ honors for their one-round back-and-forth battle, which Jouban ultimately won via knockout.
