Dustin Poirier vs. Carlos Diego Ferreira

Round 1: Poirier is southpaw with Ferreira is orthodox and the Brazilian is pressuring right away.  These two are already brawling and Poirier lands two rights. Ferreira attempts a double from an arm drag, but Poirier rolls. They clinch along the fence, but separate and while Ferreira is pressuring he’s being countered. Ferreira is pressuring Poirier into the fence again hunting for a single leg, but can’t get it. A brilliant one-two from Poirier sends Ferreira crashing to the mat. He gets back to his feet, but is dropped again. Poirier closes the show from on top in half guard with a barrage of strikes.

Dustin Poirier def. Carlos Diego Ferreira via TKO (strikes) at 3:45 of round 1

Clay Guida vs. Robbie Peralta

Round 1: The referee in charge of the action is Mike King. Both fighters open orthodox and Peralta strikes first with an outside, lead leg low kick. Guida moves frenetically an whiffs on an overhand right. Guida runs Peralta into the fence, scoops him and drives him to the mat. Peralta lands underneath, but does a good job of posting on his elbow to scoot back to the fence and stand. High crotch lift for Guida plants Peralta back on the canvas, but he’s locked in half guard again with Peralta trying to scoot away. Guida scores a leg ride and is halfway towards taking the back on Peralta, but is preoccupied with hand fighting and has stopped scrambling. Guida locks up a seatbelt grip and is kneeing Peralta’s exposed body on the right side.

Round 2: Right hand from Guida finds the mark and Giuda drives his way towards a double, but Peralta is still trying to get his back along the fence. Peralta gets to his feet, but Guida is stuck to him. Guida goes nowhere with his takedown attempt, so the two are separated, but ‘The Carpenter’ is right back on him on the other side of the cage. Guida is bleeding, but it’s not clear where or how badly yet. They’re separated again for inactivity. Solid leg kick scores for Peralta at range. Guida is deep on a double, but it’s still stuffed in the center of the cage. Very, very close round.

Round 3: Guida attempts a left hook, but it misses. That’s until a left high kick finds the mark. Guida patiently times a double and it scores, but Peralta stands. That’s until Guida scoops him again and drops him with authority to the mat. Peralta is attempting an upa sweep, but ends up giving up mount with a head and arm triangle being attempted from Guida. He gets very close, but can’t quite get it to go, but he is throwing knees to the body from side control on Peralta. Peralta scrambles back to his feet, but Guida is still all over him, this time working for a single or double. Guida manages another slam, which puts him back on top in side control.
