After an insane week, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is already back to the hurt business this Wednesday (July 13, 2016) for UFC Fight Night 91: “McDonald vs. Lineker,” which takes place inside Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, live on FOX Sports 1.

The promotion’s latest mixed martial arts (MMA) card will feature a compelling bantamweight showdown pitting top contender Michael McDonald against hard-hitting flyweight import John Lineker. Elsewhere on the card, Tony Ferguson welcomes regional stud Landon Vannata to the Octagon.

Overhand right drops McDonald! Lineker on the attack and left hooks drop McDonald again! McDonald throwing back as he retreats. Two minutes in. Lineker stomping forward, slinging heat. McDonald trading absolute bombs with him. Another left hook melts McDonald and Lineker polishes him off with a few more brutal shots.

Round 1: Ferguson on the advance. Low kick by Ferguson, front kick by Vannata. Vannata shoots, stuffed, eats a body kick. Spinning back kick lands for him, as does a pivoting right cross. Low blow pauses the action. Ferguson low kick. One minute in. Another body kick and a 1-2-3 as Vannata holds the leg. Good exchanges in the center. Spinning back fist rocks Ferguson! He retreats, then lands some straight punches of his own. Guillotine attempt by Ferguson. Counter right by Vannata and he attacks, only to eat a spinning elbow. Wild fight. Two minutes in. Ferguson storming after him. Body kick from Ferguson, gets knocked down. 1-2 by Ferguson. Vannata ducks an elbow and tries to tie up. Heavy jabs by Ferguson. Vannata eats them, then comes back with a heavy right hand. Wild exchanges . Two mintues to go.

Teep by Vannata. Ferguson with some hard right hands. Vannta shoots, stuffed. Ferguson tries to snap him down from the front headlock, walks into a straight right. Big shots by both men. Head kick and Ferguson’s down! Vannata on the attack and Ferguson’s legs are gone!. One minute to go and Ferguson rolls for a leg. Heel hook attempt. Vannata works his knee free. Vannata plows him to his back, only for Ferguson to lock up an armbar. Vannata gets out before the bell. Holy shit. 10-9 Vannata.

Round 2: Vannata now the aggressor. Body kick lands for him. Ferguson pops him with the jab, whiffs on a right hand. Vanata to the body. Ferguson lands front kicks to the body. Nice shots by both men. One minute in. Head kick lands for Vannata and Ferguson comes back with a hard combination. Vannata with his hands down, waving Ferguson on. HUGE Superman punch by Ferguson and Vannata just eats it. Ferguson starting to take over. Vannata’s running out of gas, eats a counter left. Ferguson locks up a nasty standing guillotine, then transitions to a d’arce. This looks deep. Vannata tries valiantly to defend, but ultimately has to tap.

Round 1: Samman catches a kick and shoots in, taking Boetsch to the fence. Knees by Samman. Boetsch answers with rights to the body, then takes Samman down as the latter throws a knee. One minute in. Boetsch with some short punches from half guard. Two minutes in. Boetsch still landing as Samman works his way to his feet. Samman with a knee on the exit. Low kick and 1-2 by Samman and he shoots. Samman looks for the back, can’t get it. Two minutes to go.

Samman still driving and both dig with punches. Right hand by Boetsch on the break. Solid shots. One minute to go. Samman lands a body kick. Good exchange in the center. Samman rushes into the clinch. Samman ends the round throwing head kicks and Boetsch comes back with punches. 10-9 Boetsch.

Round 2: Boetsch with a right hook as he advances. Samman skips forward, lands a 1-2. Boetsch catches a body kick and takes top position. Full guard. One minute to go. Ground-and-pound from Boetsch. Samman tries to scrambles, give up mount. Samman regains half guard. Elbows by Boetsch. Two minutes in. Boetsch looking for a Kimura from half guard. Grinding away. Samman trying to use a butterfly hook, Boetsch stops into  mount and thumps away. Samman gives up his back. Two minutes to go.

Round 1: Both men come out swinging hard. Oleinik presses him against the cage. Oleinik continues to drive and completes a low single. Omielanczuk gets his back on the cage. One minute in. Ileinik having trouble getting into top position, manages to do so. Full mount for Oleinik Two minutes in. Half guard for Oleinik. Two minutes to go.

Oleinik landing short ground-and-pound. Omielanczuk makes his way back to his feet, turns to face the Russian. One minute to go. Oleinik changes levels and scores another takedown. He takes the back in the waning seconds 10-9 Oleinik.

Round 2: Oleinik storms forward and Omielanczuk cracks him with a brutal left hand. A head kick and left hand force Oleinik to shoot, then pull guard. Ground-and-pound by the Pole. Oleinik falls back for a leg. Omielanczuk fights it off, but surrenders top position. One minute in. Oleinik tries his scarf hold crank, can’t get it and Omielanczuk takes top position. Oleinik looks to be running out of steam as Omielanczuk steadily pounds away. Two minutes in. Oleinik spins out and takes top position. Omielanczuk trying to stand on the fence. He makes it to his feet and separates. Good 1-2 lands for him, then an overhand left. Two minutes to go.

Oleinik muscles him to the fence and puts him on his back once again. Full mount for the Russian. Omielanczuk escapes out the backdoor and avoids an armbar. Oleinik looking for a triangle as Omielanczuk whacks him with hammerfists. Oleinik cinching it up, but taking some major punishment in the process. 10-9 Omielanczuk.

Round 3: Oleinik is busted up and looks damn tired. He shoots in right away. Omielanczuk defending on the fence. Oleinik looking for a low single, eating punches from the Pole. Oleinik pulls guard. One minute in. Full guard for Oleinik. The ref stands them up. Two minutes in. Omielanczuk cracks him and Oleinik ties up. Omielanczuk defending on the fence. Oleinik completes a takedown. Two minutes to go.

Oleinik takes the back, both hooks in. He transitions to an arm-triangle. Omielanczuk sweeps into top position. Ground-and-pound by the Pole. One minute to go. The referee waves them up. Right hook by Omielanczuk on the restart. Good left uppercut. He scores a takedown of his own before the bell. 10-9 Omielanczuk.

Round 1: Both men come out swinging in the first ten seconds. Good body kick by Noke. Low kick lands. Short right cross. One minute in. High kick by Nakamura glances off. Check right hook. Noke’s jab is working well. Front kick to the body by Noke. Two minutes in. Side kick downstairs. Another head kick by Nakamura, then a clean pair of straight lefts. Nakamura’s catching some of these kicks but not doing anything with them. Lefts land for him, then a good flurry. Noke takes him down, he pops back up. Two minutes to go.

Nakamura slips on a high kick. Slapping backfist by Noke, who eats a hard right hand soon after. Low kick by Noke, then a hard right inside. One minute to go. Front kick to the body. Straight left lands for Nakamura. Hard jab by Noke, then a cracking body kick before the bell. 10-9 Noke.

Round 2: High kick from Noke. Nakamura pursues. Right hook from Nakamura. Noke sprawls on a shot. Nakamura right hook. Noke low kick. One minute in. Stiff jab by Noke. Noke with a front kick to the body. Nakamura ducks an elbow, can’t do anything with it. Two minutes in. Nakamura plodding after him, not landing too much. Straight left lands for him as Noke works his legs. Nakamura lands a straight left near the fence, then another and Nakamura’s on the attack. Two minutes to go.

Noke circles off to the center. Straight left by Nakamura and Noke takes him down. Nakamura makes it to his feet, Noke has the rear waistlock. Knees by Noke, Nakamura separates. Side kick by Noke. One minute to go. Body kick by Nakamura. Good flurry by the Japanese vet and he knocks Noke down with a hard knee. Nakamura bashing away, taking mount and then the back. Both hooks in for Nakamura and he’s got the choke locked up. Nike taps at the very last second.

125 lbs.: Ben Nguyen vs. Louis Smolka

Round 1: Nguyen comes out throwing vicious heat, including a solid head kick against the cage. Smolka goes for a takedown, but Nguyen counters and lands on top. He takes mount, then the back. Smolka scrambles up and takes him down into side control. One minute in. Nguyen working butterfly guard, stands and then takes the back. Smolka turns to mount. He’s rolling and he manages to get top position. Nguyen slaps on an omoplata and rolls through into top position. Two minutes in. Smolka goes hard for a leg, eating left hands from Nguyen. He powers through into top guard, then half guard. They scramble, Smolka maintains top position and gets mount. Hard ground-and-pound by Smolka after Nguyen regains half guard. Two minutes to go.

Nguyen goes for deep half guard and Smolka locks up a d’arce. Nguyen slips out, eating hard punches. Nguyen pops up and Smolka grabs  a power guillotine. Nguyen slips out again and another tight guillotine from Smolka. Ground-and-pound and he takes mount. One minute to go. Smolka laying into him with hard punches. Elbows now. Nguyen struggling to survive, giving up his back. Smolka just unloading on him. Nguyen survives. 10-8 Smolka.

Round 2: Smolka shoots right away, takes top position despite Nguyen threatening the back. More heavy ground-and-pound by the Hawaiian. Nguyen scoots to the fence and Smolka forces him down with a vicious high-elbow guillotine. One minute in. Smolka dominating on the mat. battering Nguyen. Smolka falls back for a leg, regains guard when there’s nothing there. Two minutes in. Nguyen is just completely out of steam. Smolka thumping away. Nguyen gets to his feet, immediately dumped back down. Smolka landing hard punches and knees to the body. Easy single-leg by Smolka. Two minutes to go.

Smolka pulls guard on a tight guillotine, then transitions to a triangle. Nguyen slips out, can’t get top position. Smolka in full mount. Now the back and he locks up the choke. One minute to go. Nguyen survives, so Smolka takes mount and batters the hell out of him. Thumping elbows and Herb Dean comes in to save Nguyen.

Round 1: Murphy on the front foot. Body kick from Chookagian. Counter right by the UFC newcomer. One minute in. Counter hook by Chookagian, then an uppercut. Murphy ties up on the fence. Two minutes in. They separate. Right hand by Murphy. Two minutes to go.

Chookagian moving quite well. Murphy left hook. Chookagian lands a low kick, circles off the fence. Good right hand soon after. One minute to go. Chookagian lands a glancing right hand. Low kick from Murphy, Chookagian answers in kind. 1-2 by Murphy. Chookagian shoots, stuffed. 10-9 Chookagian.

Round 2: Both women fall short in the early going. Right hand by Murphy, then a 1-2 near the fence. Chookagian pops her with jabs, eats a right hand. Murphy changes levels. One minute to go. Murphy’s in on her hips but is struggling to bring her down. Finally, she does so and Chookagian locks up her guard. Two minutes in. Chookagian doing a good job of stifling Murphy’s top game, but not doing much to stand. Two minutes to go.

Chookagian scoots to the cage as Murphy grinds away. One minute to go. Murphy continues to land punches as Chookagian simply ties her down. 10-9 Murphy.

Round 3: Murphy continues to advance as Chookagian works off her back foot, landing low kicks. Chookagian’s touching her up with those leg kicks. One minute in. Right hand by Chookagian. Solid jabs. Counter uppercut connects. 1-2 lands as she circles out. Body kick lands. Two minutes in. 1-2 connects. Murphy not doing much besides wading forward and getting hit. Right hand by Murphy. Two minutes to go.

Murphy has yet to shoot this round. Murphy ties up on the fence, Chookagian reverses position. Knees by Chookagian. One minute to go. Chookagian drills her with a knee and Murphy shoots. Chookagian returns to her feet quickly and separates before the bell. 10-9 Chookagian.

Round 1: Low kick from Spicely to start. Rights to the body and he shoots. Alvey defending on the fence. Alvey grabs the Thai plum and separates. Hard right by Spicely and a left, answered by an Alvey right hok. One minute in. Another check hook drops Spicely, although he pops back up. Spicely’s landing decent shots but is seriously outgunned. Spicely shoots, stuff. He tries for a leglock, still can’t get it. Back to the feet, Alvey pressing him against the cage. two minutes in. Knee by Alvey, Spicely reverses position. Alvey continues to defend and transitions to a front choke, lifting Spicely off the ground to get the tap.

Round 1: They exchange early and Casey connects with right hands. Low kick from Stanciu. Casey hits a nice trip and immediately takes mount. One minute in. Stanciu trying to bridge as Casey digs in elbows. Stanciu regains half guard, eats some elbows before Casey lets her up. Two minutes to go. Casey body kick. Two minutes in. They tie up and Casey slings her down into side control. Casey immediately pops into mount and then takes the back, landing elbows to force the stoppage.

Round 1: Solid left hook by Holtzman. Again. Right hand soon after. Holtzman throwing heat in the early going. Pfister dings him with a right hand. Holtzman backs him up and lands a flying knee that prompts a shot. Pfister latched onto his leg, struggling to finish the takedown. One minute in. Pfister moves higher on the leg and drops Holtzman with a nasty elbow. He ties right back up as Holtzman gets his wits back. Holtzman shoves him away. Two minutes in. Holtzman lands an uppercut. 2-1 from Holtzman. Lead right hand. Superman punch and they tie up. Holtzman stuffs a takedown and puts him on the fence. Two minutes to go.

Short elbows by Holtzman. Knees to the body. Pfister lands an elbow and gets shoved to the mat. Pfister works his way to his knees and then the feet. Hard body shot by Holtzman. One minute to go. Low kick from Holtzman. Pfister shoots in from too far out and Holtzman sprawls on it. Hard knees by Holtzman as he stands. Sharp right hand before the bell. 10-9 Holtzman.

Round 2: Holtzman lands early. Holtzman to the body, right hand upstairs. MASSIVE head kick and down goes Pfister. He gets his wits back and locks up half guard. Holtzman quickly moves to mount. One minute in. Holtzman works his way higher, briefly threatening an arm-triangle. Pfister with a well-timed bridge and now he’s on top. Holtzman scoots to the fence and makes his way to his feet. Two minutes in. Pfister continuing to drive. Holtzman slips out, cracks him with a right hand, and puts him on his back. Solid punches from half guard. Two minutes to go.

Holtzman moves to mount. One minute to go. Pfister again manages to sweep his way to top position. Holtzman locks up guard.  Holtzman tries a triangle, nothing there. Pfister slams home a good right hand before the bell. 10-9 Holtzman.

Round 3: Low kick from Holtzman. Pfister shoots, stuffed. Nice right by Holtzman. Right hook by Pfister. Holtzman sprawls on a shot, eats a knee, and lands an easy single-leg into half guard. One minute in. Elbows by Holtzman. Pfister looking to put in a knee shield, gets butterfly guard and lands an illegal upkick. Two minutes in. Holtzman staying busy from top position. Pfister shoots in and Holtzman locks up a guillotine. Pfister takes him down and moves into the opposite half guard . Two minutes to go.

Holtzman scrambles up and Pfister takes the back. Holtzman rolls through into top half guard. One minute to go. Solid shots by Holtzman. He continues landing until the bell. 10-9 Holtzman.

Round 1: Yahya lands some solid right hands early. Both men swinging hard. Nice counter right from Lopez. Yahya grabs a bodylock against the fence. Lopez counters a takedown and takes top position. Yahya regains guard and Lopez stands. Body kick from the Brazilian soon after. Low kick lands. Left hook from Yahya as he taks a body kick. Two minutes in. Lopez connects in a rapid exchange. Lopez with a counter right,Yahya rushes with punches and trips him up with a low kick. Two minutes to go.

Body kick by Yahya and he slips. Lopez tries to jump on him and a scramble ensues. Lopez looks for an armbar, can’t get it and Yahya has side control. Elbows by Yahya. Another scramble as Yahya tries for a guillotine. Yahya looks for a leg. Yahya hits another takedown in the last twenty seconds. 10-9 Yahya.

Round 2: Lopez with a knee to the body, eats a low kick soon after. Lopez catches a kick and Yahya pulls guard, looking for a straight armbar. Yahya looks for an omoplata, only for Lopez to lock up an inverted triangle. One minute in. Yahya gives a thumbs-up and one side of his neck is visibly free. Lopez lets go and Yahya again has side control. Two minutes in. Yahya moves to half guard to snuff out an attempt to stand. Elbows from the Brazilian. Knee to the body. Two minutes to go.

Solid rights by Yahya and Lopez goes to turtle position. He moves to the front headlock and Yahya tries to drive. They stand. Both men slowing down. Yahya dings him with a jab and shoots in. Lopez tries a weak guillotine and Yahya again takes top position. One minute to go. Side control and now mount for the Brazilian. Yahya sets up an armbar, but he can’t break Lopez’s grip. 10-9 Yahya.

Round 3: They trade low kicks and Lopez lands a good left. Yahya ties up and Lopez winds up on top. He stands and backs away. Yahya shoots and again takes top position. One minute in. Half guard for the Brazilian. Yahya moves to side control and Lopez tries to use the cage to slip out. North-south now. Lopez manages to regain guard as Yahya plugs him with punches. Lopez grabs double overhooks to control his posture. Two minutes to go.

Yahya staying busy with the ground-and-pound. Lopez gets to his feet and Yahya tries to take the back, putting in a hook. A scramble ensues and Yahya winds up on top in half guard. Lopez is completely out of gas. One minute to go. Yahya patiently sets up an arm-triangle and draws the tap in the final minute.

Round 1: Nicholson tossing out low kicks in the early going. Hard right hand from Clark in return. More low kicks by Nicholson. Clark ducks down and hits a takedown into guard. One minute in. Nicholson has one butterfly hook. Clark passes to half guard and digs in some short elbows. Clark sets up an arm-triangle, locks up the grip, and steadily passes to side control. Nicholson manages to get free and scramble up. Nicholson chases him and thumps him in the junk. Nicholson immediately jumps on him on the restart and gets crushed by a jab. Two minutes to go.

Nicholson survives the follow-up and makes it to his feet, Clark still attached. Short knees from Clark. One minute to go. Knees to the body from Nicholson, who dings him with a spinning elbow on the break. Clark slips while throwing a side kick, then lands a booming right that Nicholson shrugs off. Clark backs to the fence and gets sparked by a straight right to the temple. He collapses and Nicholson slams home a few more shots to send the referee into action.

Final result: Nicholson def. Clark by KO (punches)
