Little has changed in the UFC rankings lately.
The UFC rankings have been strange lately. Following the UFC’s August 8th event, the rankings were not updated. All the way until UFC 252. After the event, they updated the rankings – but only through the event prior to UFC 252. Confused yet? I sure was.
Anyway, this rankings apparently don’t reflect UFC 252. Hopefully that update will come in the next couple of days.
So what happened at UFC Vegas 6? Derrick Lewis knocked out Aleksei Oleinik. Didn’t matter in the rankings. Chris Weidman beat Omari Akhmedov. Somehow, Akhmedov jumped way up into the rankings. And the rest? Well it was pretty irrelevant.
Here’s a look at last week’s changes:
Men’s P4P – No changes.
Heavyweight – Shamil Abdurakhimov fell two spots to 12, allowing Aelksei Oleinik and Walt Harris moved up to ten and 11.
Light Heavyweight – They are still reflecting the departure of Corey Anderson, and are the same as last week’s with everyone moving up one and Paul Craig entering the rankings at 15.
Middleweight – Akhmedov enters at 11. Ian Heinisch drops two spots to 13. Antonio Carlos Junior drops one to 15.
Welterweight – No changes.
Lightweight – Al Iaquinta and Kevin Lee flip-flop the nine and ten spots. Islam Makhachev is up three spots to 11. Gregor Gillespie, Donald Cerrone, and Beneil Dariush fell one spot each to 12 through 14 respectively.
Featherweight – No changes.
Bantamweight – No changes.
Flyweight – Tim Elliott is up one to 11, with Raulian Paiva dropped to 12.
Women’s P4P – No changes.
Women’s Bantamweight – No changes.
Women’s Flyweight – No changes.
Women’s Strawweight – No changes.
