The Ultimate Fighting Championship appears to be headed back to the Middle East and possibly, the United Kingdom, in the first half of 2011.
The UFC will head back to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates on March 19th for UFC 128. Several sources confirmed the news, which MMAWeekly.com was the first to report, also noting that the possible headliner would be a UFC light-heavyweight title match between champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua versus top contender Rashad Evans. The UFC’s first event in Abu Dhabi was in April of last year with UFC 112 which was held at the Ferrari World Arena.
FightersOnlyMagazine.co.uk is reporting that the UFC could be looking at a May date in Liverpool, England. The area does not boast a large venue for one of the large pay-per-view events but would likely host one of the smaller shows such as a UFC Fight Night event.
