Officials with the Ultimate Fighting Championship confirmed that the promotion would be making it’s first trip to Sweden this coming April with their second FUEL TV event.

The announcement was made during the live press call for UFC Rio on Wednesday.

UFC on Fuel TV 2 is expected to take place on April 14, 2012 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

Shortly after the Fuel TV event was announced, MMAFighting.com confirmed a welterweight bout between Swedish fighter Papy ‘Makambo’ Abedi (8-1) versus James Head (7-2) for the April show.

Abedi debuted with the UFC in November, dropping down to welterweight to face Thiago Alves at the UFC 138 event. Alves would earn his first career submission win after forcing Abedi to tap to a rear-naked choke in the first round of the match. It was the first defeat of Abedi’s career who had earned eight straight wins, five by (T)KO, two by submission and one by decision.

Head is also just one fight into his UFC career, losing to Nick Ring this past June at UFC 131 via third round submission. He had been expected to appear at UFC 138 but was forced to pull out in late September due to an undisclosed injury. Head is currently 2-1 in his last three matches with four victories via (T)KO, two by submission and one by decision in his pro-career.
