The Ultimate Fighting Championship looks set to feature more free fights on Facebook with this Thursday’s UFC on Versus 3 (aka UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann) event in Louisville, Kentucky.
Streaming live on the promotions fan page (@Facebook.com/UFC) fans can log in to watch UFC lightweights Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (31-12) vs. Danny “Last Call” Castillo (10-3) and light heavyweights Steve “The Cure” Cantwell (7-3) vs. Cyrille “The Snake” Diabaté (10-7-1) this Thursday, 3 March, at 8 PM EST (7PM PST).
UFC on Versus 3 takes place at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville with the main card airing on the Versus network. Headlining the event is a welterweight match between Diego Sanchez vs. Martin Kampmann.
Although not officially announced, MMAFighting.com has confirmed the Facebook bouts with the promotion.
Stevenson is on a two fight losing skid having dropped matches to Mac Danzig at UFC 124 and George Sotiropoulos at UFC 110. The three time “Fight of the Night” winner could be looking at release with another loss. His opponent, Castillo makes his UFC debut having moved over from the WEC. “Last Call has won two in a row earning wins against Will Kerr at WEC 53 and Dustin Poireir at WEC 50.
Cantwell also finds his back against the ropes after two straight losses. The former WEC light heavyweight champ lost a unanimous decision to Brian Stann at UFC Fight Night 19, he defeated Stann for the WEC belt, and also to Luiz Cane at UFC 97. Diabaté had a six fight win streak stopped by Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 120 and puts “The Snake’s” record at 1-1 in the UFC. He debuted against Luiz Cane at UFC 114 last May.

Las Vegas, Nevada – The Ultimate Fighting Championship® is giving its fans yet another opportunity to watch live fights on Facebook®. UFC® officials announced today that two highly-anticipated clashes will be featured this Thursday, March 3, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Both fights will be streamed live and free at www.facebook.com/ufc.
The fights are: a lightweight collision between Danny “Last Call” Castillo and Joe “Daddy” Stevenson, as well as a light heavyweight clash between Cyrille Diabate and Steve Cantwell.
By simply “liking” the UFC Facebook page, fans will gain access to the live broadcast of the fights from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky., home to Thursday’s UFC® Live card. The event’s main card will be broadcast on VERSUS at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
“Thursday is a great night for UFC fans, as we’ll have free fights on Facebook and VERSUS,” UFC President Dana White said. “There are some really good matchups on this card and as always, we’re excited to give UFC fans the chance to catch them for free.”
