A UFC heavyweight bout between two of the tallest fighters in the promotion is all but signed between undefeated Sean McCorkle (10-0) and Stefan Struve (20-4) for the upcoming UFC 124 event in Montreal.
MMAFighting.com has been on a roll announcing this fight, as well as two other UFC planned bouts featuring Shane Carwin vs. Roy Nelson and Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin.
McCorkle (6′7″) who has made his notoriety on the Underground Forums, made his UFC debut last month against Mark Hunt at UFC 119. McCorkle scored an early first round submission win over Hunt with an armbar at 1:03. The Indianapolis fighter has only made it to a decision once in his ten fight career earning a split decision back in December of 2006.
One of the youngest, and the tallest (6′11″), UFC fighter, Struve is 1-1 in his last two fights having defeated Christian Morecraft by KO at UFC 117. “Skyscraper” was dominated heavily in that fight by his opponent in the first round but managed to score a 22 second knockout in the second round of that fight. The loss came against “TUF 10″ season winner Roy Nelson at March’s UFC Fight Night: Florian vs. Gomi event.
UFC 124 will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and is believed to happen on Dec. 11th. The headliner for the event is believed to be the UFC welterweight title bout between champ Georges St-Pierre and top contender Josh Koscheck.
