Check out which fighters won performance bonuses from UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov

The Apex Fight Center in Las Vegas, Nevada was home to a solid night of fights at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov. The card saw three (T)KOs, two submissions and seven decisions.

UFC On ESPN 11 saw another great night of fights highlighted by some serious moments of greatness (I’m looking at you Jim Miller). The curtain jerker featured a retirement in between rounds from Max Rohskopf after likely winning the first stanza, but taking quite a bit of punishment in the second. Lauren Murphy defeated fan favorite Roxanne Modafferi with another strong performance, marking her third straight win.

Newcomer Justin Janes absolutely steamrolled Frank Camacho inside one minute, Gillian Anderson spoiled Cortney Casey’s sophomore effort at flyweight with a gnarly rear-naked choke, and Marc-Andre Barriault stopped Oscar Piechota just before the second round ended with a barrage of strikes. Tecia Torres outclassed Brianna Van Buren all three rounds for an absolutely necessary win that ended a 4-fight skid.

Bobby Green outperformed Clay Guida in a unanimous decision victory, Jim Miller showed once again why you should never count him out, stopping highly-touted prospect Roosevelt Roberts with an armbar in less than half a round.

Belal Muhammad and Lyman Good had an exciting back-and-forth scrap that would see Muhammad getting his arm raised, and Raquel Pennington logged a victory over birthday girl Marion Reneau via unanimous decision. The co-main event was a super-entertaining battle between Shane Burgos and Josh Emmett with Emmett dropping Burgos and basically having his way with him for most of the fight, ultimately taking the W.

The main event was a slog to watch with Blaydes dominating nearly the entire fight, ending up taking the unanimous decision, even if there were some headscratchers among the judges’ scoring.

Performance of the Night: Jim Miller, Justin Jaynes

Austin Hubbard (TKO (retirement), 5:00 of round 2), Justin Jaynes (TKO (strikes), :41 of round 1), Gillian Robertson (submission (rear naked choke), 4:32 of round 3), Marc-Andre Barriault (TKO (strikes), 4:50 of round 2), and Jim Miller (submission (armbar), 2:25 of round 1) all finished their respective fights inside the distance, but it would be Jim Miller and Justin Jaynes taking the $50,000 checks tonight.

Fight of the Night: Josh Emmett vs. Shane Burgos

Lauren Murphy (30-27, 30-27, 29-28), Tecia Torres (30-27, 30-27, 30-27), Bobby Green (29-28, 29-28, 30-27), Belal Muhammad (29-28, 29-28, 29-28), Raquel Pennington (30-27, 29-28, 29-28), Josh Emmett (29-28, 29-28, 29-27), and Curtis Blaydes (49-46-48-47, 48-46) all saw their fights through to the end, but it would be Josh Emmett’s sensational fight with Shane Burgos that would take FOTN honors.
