The medical suspensions for this past weekends UFC on FOX: Evans vs. Davis event were released by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, handing down sentences to eight of the nights fighters.

UFC on FOX 2 took place on January 28, 2012 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois which featured a ten bout card with matches taking place on FOX television, FUEL TV, and Facebook.

Receiving the longest suspension was heavyweight Joey ‘The Mexicutioner’ Beltran who received a sixty day suspension with no contact for 45 days. Beltran suffered a first round knockout against former Strikeforce fighter Lavar Johnson during the events preliminary card.

Of the six main card fighters only two received medical suspensions. The night saw Rashad Evans defeat Phil Davis for a light heavyweight title shot, Chael Sonnen would earn a No. 1 contender spot at middleweight by defeating Michael Bisping, and also saw Chris Weidman stay undefeated with a decision win over Demian Maia.

Davis was suspended for 45 days while Chris Weidman was suspended for 30 days.

Phil Davis: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
Chris Weidman: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
John Olav-Einemo: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
Nik Lentz: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
George Roop: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
Joey Beltran: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
Dustin Jacoby: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
Chris Camozzi: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days

Details on the nature of their injuries were not disclosed. Additionally, as a note, Illinois does not disclosed fight purses, so salaries/payroll will not be be available for this card.
