UFC on FOX 29 video: Poirier wins thriller vs. Gaethje

The top of the UFC on FOX 29 billing witnessed top lightweight Dustin Poirier wage complete and total war with Justin Gaethje! Both men were down to war it out on the feet, as expected, with Gaethje scoring early with the leg kicks, and Poirier letting go with the hands. The second round was no different, each man letting it all hang out. Poirier landed so many punches, but so did his opponent, and Gaethje even landed a Rolling thunder Kick at the end of the second frame.

The third round opened with a heavy counter right from Gaethje that hurt Poirier, but another eye poke resulted in a point deduction for Gaethje. The fourth round came, and Poirier cracked with a counter right cross that put his opponent on skates. The inner savage came on out of Poirier, and he unloaded all sorts of volume on Gaethje, forcing the referee to step in for the standing TKO. What a crazy fight!

Round 4 – Gaethje looks to attack the legs again. Poirier lands a brutal left hand on the counter that stumbles Gaethje! Poirier continues to swing away. Gaethje continues to do the stanky leg with Poirier punching him all the while. Gaethje finally falls to the ground. He doesn’t stay down for long, but the referee had seen enough. Poirier wins in an epic battle!
