Daniel Cormier and Chad Mendes were two of the big winners at UFC on FOX 7. Cormier beat Frank Mir in a win that sets him up for the possibility of dropping to light-heavyweight to challenge for the belt, while Mendes knocked out the streaking Darren Elkins.

Neither of them left unscathed.

In fact, they face the lengthiest potential layoffs as the result of injuries they suffered during their respective wins. According to the California state athletic commission, which released its medical suspensions, Cormier and Mendes could be sidelined for as much as 180 days for finger injuries. Both could be cleared sooner if doctors rule out significant damage, such as a break.

Meanwhile, while event headliners Benson Henderson and Gilbert Melendez fought for 25 minutes, both escaped with no issues, as each was only handed a mandatory seven-day suspension.
