UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Reis live results, discussion, play by play

Live, blow-by-blow updates for today’s UFC event in Kansas City, which features a flyweight title fight as the headliner.

Join us today on Bloody Elbow for live results, discussion, round scoring, and play-by-play for UFC on FOX 24, which goes down in the Spirit Center in Kansas City, MO.

The headliner will take place in the flyweight division, with champion Demetrious Johnson looking to defend his belt against another contender – this time it’s Wilson Reis.

Live results and play-by-play will commence early, as is traditional with Fox cards, with the Fight Pass broadcast at 4pm ET/1pm PT. There will be five fights there before the card moves to big Fox for four more preliminary bouts starting at 6pm ET/3pm PT. Finally, the four-fight main card will kick off at 8pm ET/5pm PT.

Renato Moicano vs. Jeremy Stephens

Round 1 – They both throw a few leg kicks. Moicano had a spinning back kick blocked. He connects with a head kick. Moicano kicks to the head, body, then leg. He’s moving a lot, and Stephens can’t get his rhythm. Hard inside leg kick from Moicano. Another one and he finishes with a right hook. He’s really busting up the inside of Stephens’ lead leg. Stephens trying to fire back. Stephens landed his hard overhand right and it stumbled Moicano slightly. Stephens with an outsode leg kick. He gets Moicano against the fence briefly and lands hard. Moicano ducked an elbow and scored a beautiful takedown. Stephens looking for a kimura, which stalls Moicano’s top game. 10-9 Moicano.

Round 2 –

Roy Nelson vs. Alexander Volkov

Round 1 – Inside leg kicks from Volkov. Nelson misses with the big overhand right. Nelson looking for a double leg and holding Volkov against the fence. Nelson looked for a trip but couldn’t get that either. Volkov reversed and landed a knee to Big Country’s ample belly. Nelson scores a nice outside trip takedown. He worked away from the top, looking to trap an arm. He’s not throwing punches though. The red stood them up with 25 seconds to go. Volkov opened up wit h some huge strikes! Nelson lands the overhand right twice! Great close to the round. 10-9 Nelson, but it was close.

Round 2 – Jab from Volkov. Nelson comes up short with the right and an uppercut. Volkov went for a kick and Nelson charged into the clinch. Nelson held him there for a while but couldn’t get a takedown. Front kick from Volkov. Nelson with a body kick and he shoots in. He gives up on it pretty quickly. Nelson with a huge right hook…to the thigh. Nelson scores with the right, to the face this time. Volkov keeps jabbing. Another front kick from Volkov, and a hard straight right. Now an uppercut. Nelson slowing down. They both land hard combos. Volkov goes back to the jab. Nelson grazes him with the overhand. He misses with a takedown attempt, badyly, and gets beaten up on the way by. 10-9 Volkov.

Round 3 – Volkov circling a lot early. Nelson with a leg kick. Nelson tried for a takedown and paid for it as Volkov unloaded on him. Volkov kicking the inside of Nelson’s leg and landing front kicks. Back to the jab. Nelson just walking forward and missing with one punch at a time. Volkov with a head kick and three hard punches. More jabs and leg kicks. He’s using his height to perfection. Three straight body kicks. Nelson comes forward and looks for the legs again, but Volkov used underhooks to keep him off, lands a knee, and then a hard punch as Nelson backed out. Nelson is barely even keeping his hands up. Volkov playing it smart, potshotting at range. Nice uppercut and a brutal leg kick from Volkov. Three front kick and it’s over. 10-9 and 29-28 Volkov.

Alexander Volkov defeated Roy Nelson by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Tom Duquesnoy vs. Patrick Williams

Round 1 – Williams presses forward and misses with punches, but lands a kick in the butt. Duquesnoy stuffs a shot. Williams perseveres and gets a takedown. Duquesnoy up quick though. Duquesnoy with a winging right. Williams went to the body. Duquesnoy with a knee to the body. Quick uppercut from Williams. Duquesnoy with a chopping leg kick, but Williams caught it and took him down. Not for long though. Body kick from Williams. Big shot from Williams and it drops Duquesnoy! He’s right back up. Knee to the body from Duquesnoy, and a body kick. Nice uppercut. They trade elbows. Knee to the body and leg kick from Williams. Step-in knee from Duquesnoy. Williams looks a bit tired already. Knee and hard elbow from Duquesnoy in the clinch. Another knee to the body and he dropped him with three elbows at the horn! 10-9 Williams I guess, but the tide is clearly turning.

Round 2 – Williams is obviously tired but he landed a right hook. Hard elbow from Duquesnoy. Another hard one drops Williams and a punch ends the fight.

Bobby Green vs. Rashid Magomedov

Round 1 – Low kick from Green. Counter left from Magomedov. Green pushed Magomedov against the cage and they traded knees. Magomedov landed a knee to the cup. Cornuts cam? Yup, straight to the cup. They only pause for a few seconds. A lot of feinting now. Magomedov with a body shot. Green with a leg kick. Magomedov caught a kick and dropped Green with a straight left! Green got up right away though. May have just been off balance. Green with a nice straight left/low leg kick combo. Green continuing to batter the front leg. Magomedov with a nice counter. Green ties him up. Green with a knee to the body. Green almost got a trip takedown, but Magomedov stayed up. He took his back with a body lock but still couldn’t get him down. More knees to the legs against the cage. 10-9 Magomedov.

Round 2 – Green with a reaching left hook. And another. Magomedov with a nice combo. Green with a body shot as Magomedov threw a kick. Inside leg kick from Magomedov. Magomedov digs to the body with a left hook. Hard shot. Jab from Magomedov. Eye poke, and it looked like it drew blood. But it wasn’t an eye poke, it was a punch. The glove caused the cut, but his hand was definitely closed. They start back up and Magomedov lands a combo. Hard outside leg kick. Nice combo. He’s stepping up his pace a bit. Green caught a leg and pushed Magomedov back to the cage. Magomedov circled out after 30 seconds. Magomedov with a nice takedown but Green almost scrambled to his back. They’re back up. Straight left and a body kick from Magomedov. Green with a jab. Magomedov with another body kick. 10-9 Magomedov.

Round 3 – Magomedov with some shots on the inside as Green initiated a clinch. Green with a jab to the body. Magomedov responds in kind. Green wlands a nice right hook. He catches a kick but Magomedov escaped. Another right hook scores for Green after a flying knee to the body. Green with a knee to the body in the clinch. Magomedov with a looping right hook. They trade jabs. Green with a leg kick and they both land counter left hooks. Green continues punching the body. Hard body kick from Magomedov. Green kicks the cup now, but they only need 5 seconds to restart. Another body kick from Magomedov. Nice straight left and right from Magomedov. Outside leg kick. Nice combo again but Green countered with a right hook. Green tied him up against the cage. Knees to the legs. Magomedov escapes with 20 seconds to go. Superman punch for Magomedov. Flying knee. 10-9 and 30-27 Magomedov.

Tim Elliott vs. Louis Smolka

Round 1 – Elliott with an immediate takedown. He’s looking for an early guillotine. He moved to side, but Smolka got up. Big knee and a punches against the cage from Elliott. Elliott clinches up again but Smolka hit a nice throw. He couldn’t settle on top though, because Elliott scrambled away. Elliott got another takedown as Smolka tried to secure a kimura. He gave up on that and got up. Elliott with yet another takedown but he briefly got stuck in a gullotine. Smolka used it to pass. Elliott immediately escape and he has another takedown. I can barely keep up with the play-by-play here, these guys are so fast. Smolka back up yet again, and Elliott cracked him with a knee. Single leg takedown from Elliott. 50/50 briefly. Smolka squirmed around and took his back. Elliott scrambled away, got to his feet, and…got another takedown. He worked from side and cracked Smolka with an elbow. Smolka squrmed out the back, took top position, then his back with both hooks. Big punches from Smolka but Elliott is up at the horn. I’m gassed out from watching that! 10-9 Elliott.

Round 2 – Elliott with a nice shot. Smolka secured a guillotine, but Elliott escaped. Smolka went for it again. He worked from side against the cage for a few seconds but Elliott popped up and got his own takedown. Smolka up. Elliott has him back down. He’s got the back and looks to have a dangerous choke. Smolka escaped though. All that happened in the first 90 seconds of the round. Seriously. Elliott trapped an arm and landded a bunch of punches. Elliott moved to mount. Smolka spun out and looked for an ankle lock. Smolka took the top. Elliott reversed and passed to side control. This pace is absolutely unreal. They’re back on the feet halfway through the round. Smolka with a body kick. Elliott with a left and a single leg takedown. Smolka with a guillotine attempt and almost reversed position, but Elliott stayed on top and finally popped his head out. He immediately moved to mount and secured his own guillotine. It’s pretty deep. Smolka pulled his arm off. Elliott opened up with punches to the body. They end up in a crazy tangle of limbs at the end of the round. This is unbelievable. 10-9 Elliott I guess.

Round 3 – Smolka lands a couple of punches. Elliott gets a takedown, but only for 10 seconds or so. Smolka with some jabs. Elliott with a left and another takedown. Now he’s got a weird body lock over the head. Smolka scrambled back up though. Elliott with a beautiful head-and-arm throw straight to mount. He has a body triangle in mount. That’s crazy. Smolka scooted away, got back to his knees, and looked for a D’Arce choke. Elliott scooted away and they scramble back up. Smolka dropped him on his head and took his back. Elliott bulldozed his way back up, on top, looking for his own choke. They’re back to the feet with 35 seconds to go. Elliott with yet another takedown, Smolka up. Elliott with a nice elbow. Smolka with a head kick. Elliott with a takedown, Smolka reversed and looks for a north south choke at the horn. Give these men their bonus checks now. 10-9 and 30-27 Elliott.

Augusto Mendes vs. Aljamain Sterling

Round 1 – Sterling pumping the jab to the body and head. Mendes with a body kick. Sterling back to the body. Sterling ducks a punch and takes Tanquinho to the ground against the cage. Sterling staying active with a few body shots. Matt Serra is screaming. Tanquinho went for a leg lock but Sterling blatantly grabbed the top of the cage. Referee Mario Yamasaki didn’t seem to cage. They’re back on their feet. Tanquinho drops Sterling with a punch! He’s back up but Mendes immediately dropped for a guillotine, then a triangle. Sterling fought it off and stayed on top. but Tanquinho used an omoplata to sweep. Sterling eventually reversed back and landed a few punches from half guard. 10-9 Mendes.

Round 2 – Sterling with a left. Mendes misses with a winging right. Nice counter straight right from Sterling. Leg kick from AlJo. Sterling tied Tanquinho up against the against the cage and landed a few knees to the body. Shoulder check. Mendes reverses position in the clinch. He lands some knees now. He’s looking for a leg sweep but Sterling deftly stayed upright. Mendes has a body lock. More knees. Mendes gives up and separates. Sterling with two nice shots. Mendes looking tiredd now. Body kick and a combo from Sterling. Sterling with a beautiful trip takedown. Big elbow and hammerfists. 10-9 Sterling.

Round 3 – Sterling with a jab and an outside leg kick. Nice combo from AlJo. Mendes missing with his punches. Sterling with a huge left hook. Mendes throwing like a tried fighter. Mendes got a front headlock but Sterling pulled out. He pushed Tanquinho against the fence. Mendes reversed. After 20 seconds or so, Yamasaki pulled a Yamasaki and separated them. Mendes charges back in and got a body lock against the fence. Sterling with a few punches. Mendes is just holding him in place. Sterling with a knee to the body and spins Mendes into the cage. Sterling scoops a single and the go to the ground for a second, but pop back up. Sterling throwing down to the horn. Mendes can’t connect. 10-9 and 29-28 Sterling.

Aljamain Sterling defeated Augusto Mendes by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Devin Clark vs. Jake Collier

Round 1 – Clark immediately pushes Collier to the cage and looks for a takedown. Collier pushes him off and landed a knee. Nice combination stuns Clark. They tie up. Collier holds him against the cage and lands two knees. Clark with an uppercut. Collier exits and lands a spinning back kick to the body. Clark charges at him again with punches and they clinch up. Collier spins him around again. Knee and spinning elbow from Collier. Clark fires back in close. Clark throws a combo, gets the hips, and dumps Collier to the mat. Collier tried to soot up but it looked like he ate an illegal knee while on his knees. Apparently it was just the chest though. Collier got up. Clark cracked him and they clinched again. Body kick from Collier upon separation. 10-9 Collier, but close.

Round 2 – Collier with a body kick. Clark charged in again but didn’t land anything. Clark with an elbow and they clinch. Hard knee from Clark and they’re back at distance. Clark with a straight left and gets a body lock. Clark landed a hard knee directly to the cup. He gets a “hard warning” but no point deduction. Collier is back to action quickly though. Clark with a big left. Collier spins. Hard body kick from Clark. Uppercut from Collier. Clark with a head kick after a brief clinch. Clark charged in as Collier spun and almost got a takedown. Knee to the body from Collier. Clark finally gets a takedown and he worked from Collier’s back. Collier up after 30 seconds or so. Hard outside leg kick from Collier, Clark responded with a body kick. 10-9 Clark.

Round 3 – Collier pressing forward early with big punches. Clark circled out, charged forward, and got a big takedown. Collier back to his feet quickly but Clark held him against the cage. Clark backs off, misses with a big right, and Collier took his back. Clark reversed though, and got another takedown. That was nice. Clark to mount with over half the round left. Collier gives up his back. Big punches from Clark. Collier rolls back over and gets half guard back, but Clark is manhandling him. Elbows. Collier gets to his butt briefly, but Clark threatens with a choke and he has to turtle again. He finally got up with 45 seconds to go, but he’s just muscled back down. Punches from Clark. Collier trying to squirm away but Clark’s body lock has him immobilized. 10-9 and 29-28 Clark.

Devin Clark defeated Jake Collier by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)

Andrew Sanchez vs. Anthony Smith

Round 1 – A lot of feinting early. Sanchez landed a right hook behind the ear. Smith landed a knee but Sanchez clinched up and got a trip takedown. Sanchez in side control near the fence. Smith gets back to half but he’s still pretty tied up against hte cage. Right as I say that, he hits a beautiful reversal. Smith on top in half now with a few body shots. Sanchez is trying to lock him down. Ref Keith Peterson stands them up quickly. Nice left from Smith on the restart. Head kick from Sanchez blocked. Pretty counter right from Sanchez. Followed it with a left. Spinning back fist from Sanchez connects hard. Two more counters as Smith charged in with a knee. 10-9 Sanchez.

Round 2 – Sanchez missed with a wild right and actually fell down. Smith kicked him and went on the chase but couldn’t connect with much. Nice combo from Sanchez, ending with a right hook. Inside leg kick from Smith got caught, but Sanchez couldn’t get him down. Smith lands a left to the head, then goes to the body. They clinch up. Smith with a knee to the body and spins out. Another right hook behind the ear over the top of the jab from Sanchez. Sanchez backs him up to the cage, lands a combo, and looks for a takedown. He drags him to his butt, then puts him on his back. Sanchez worked from half with punches. He took his back, but Smith stood up. Sanchez kicked out of his legs out though and got back control. That was very slick. Sanchez opens up with his hands. Lots of shots to the face and legs. 10-9 Sanchez.

Round 3 – Spinning back kick to the body from Sanchez. Smith fought off a takedown. Sanchez with a combo, Smith fires back with an elbow. Sanchez missed with a right and he got ripped by a Smith right hook. Sanchez with a head kick. Smith coming forward with punches, but not connecting a ton. Sanchez scoops a single but can’t do anything. Both men slowing down. Jumping knee to the body from Smith, and a head kick. Uppercut, but Sanchez fires back with a combo. Big right from Smith. He’s walking a tired Sanchez down. Sanchez winging single shots but Smith is easily moving away from them. Smith with a big combo chasing Sanchez across the cage! Head kick and Sanchez is hurt! He’s down against the cage and Smith pounded him out! WOW what a comeback! That was actually the knee that landed right to the jaw on the high kick.

Nathan Coy vs. Zak Cummings

Round 1 – Co with a body shot. Hard leg kick from Cummings. Cummings with a nice counter combo. Coy with a leg kick but eats a hard left hook. They’re really trading here. Coy missing wit ha lot of his strikes, while Cummings is landing. Low kick from Cummings. Two big lefts stun Coy. Cummings countering beautifully. Jab from Coy. Cummings with a left, and then the follow-up right puts Coy down to one knee. He’s back up. Leg kick from Coy, but straight left counter connects. Coy goes for a takedown, but Cummings pancakes him and lands body punches. He looks for a guillotine, and it’s very tight. He moves to mount and Coy is out cold, but the referee hasn’t noticed. Wow, he had to hold it for three or four more seconds before the ref noticed. That was a bit scary. But great win for Cummings.

Ashlee Evans-Smith vs. Ketlen Vieira

Round 1 – Evans-Smith with a front kick, Vieira firing back combinations right away. They clinch up. Knee to the body from Evans-Smith. They spin out rather quickly. Both land straight rights. Nice counter combo from Vieira. Evans-Smith scoring with her right but Vieira responds with a right uppercut and a flurry of punches. Vieira stuffs a shot and they clinch up. They trade knees. Evans-Smith exits with a nice right but again eats a combination for her troubles. Leg kicks from Evans-Smith. Body shot from Vieira. Nice body kick from Evans-Smith. Uppercut from Vieira. Hard knee from Evans-Smith and they’re back in the clinch. Vieira would have got a takedown but Evans-Smith held the top of the cage to stay upright. The ref missed it. Evans-Smith with a knee and a right. 10-9 Vieira.

Round 2 – Vieira got poked in the eye but the ref wouldn’t stop it. She responded with a solid right hook. Evans-Smith initiates the clinch but gets spun around. Vieira gets a body lock and looks for a takedown. And she does, then takes her back against the cage immediately with one hook. Evans-Smith got back up quickly but Vieira still had a hold of her. Evans-Smith pushes her away after a while. Evans-Smith with a leg kick. They trade jabs. More leg kicks. Vieira landed three rights hooks, the last of which backed Evans-Smith off. Huge combo from Vieira, ending with an uppercut. Again. All Vieira here. Evans-Smith with a right and a body kick. Takedown attempt stuffed by Vieira. 10-9 Vieira again.

Round 3 – Vieira digs to the body and fires off a bunch of punches. Evans-Smith with a kick. Vieira very active early. Jab from Evans-Smith. A right drops Vieira! She rolls through or immediately looked for a takedown. She may have been pushed to the floor instead of dropped, it was tough to see from the camera angle. Foot stomps from Vieira in the clinch. Knees to the butt. The referee separated them. Wasn’t really necessary, Vieira was active. Half-hearted shot from Evans-Smith gets nowhere. Solid right counter from Vieira. Leg kicks from Evans-Smith. Another. A spinning back fist lands for Evans-Smith. Vieira goes back to the right hook. They trade shots. Vieira with another counter combo. They throw to the horn. Good fight. 10-9 Evans-Smith, but 29-28 Vieira on my card.

Magomedov digs to the body with a left hook. Hard shot. Jab from Magomedov. Eye poke, and it looked like it drew blood. But it wasn’t an eye poke, it was a punch. The glove caused the cut, but his hand was definitely closed. They start back up and Magomedov lands a combo. Hard outside leg kick. Nice combo. He’s stepping up his pace a bit. Green caught a leg and pushed Magomedov back to the cage. Magomedov circled out after 30 seconds. Magomedov with a nice takedown but Green almost scrambled to his back. They’re back up. He catches a kick but Magomedov escaped. Another right hook scores for Green after a flying knee to the body. Green with a knee to the body in the clinch. Magomedov with a looping right hook. They trade jabs. Green with a leg kick and they both land counter left hooks. Green continues punching the body. Hard body kick from Magomedov. Tim Elliott vs. Louis Smolka

Round 1 – Elliott with an immediate takedown. He’s looking for an early guillotine. He moved to side, but Smolka got up. Big knee and a punches against the cage from Elliott. Elliott clinches up again but Smolka hit a nice throw. He couldn’t settle on top though, because Elliott scrambled away. Elliott got another takedown as Smolka tried to secure a kimura. He gave up on that and got up. Elliott with yet another takedown but he briefly got stuck in a gullotine. Smolka used it to pass. Elliott immediately escape and he has another takedown. I can barely keep up with the play-by-play here, these guys are so fast. Smolka back up yet again, and Elliott cracked him with a knee. Single leg takedown from Elliott. 50/50 briefly. Smolka squirmed around and took his back. Elliott scrambled away, got to his feet, and…got another takedown. He worked from side and cracked Smolka with an elbow. Smolka squrmed out the back, took top position, then his back with both hooks. Big punches from Smolka but Elliott is up at the horn. I’m gassed out from watching that! 10-9 Elliott.

Round 2 – Elliott with a nice shot. Smolka secured a guillotine, but Elliott escaped. Smolka went for it again. He worked from side against the cage for a few seconds but Elliott popped up and got his own takedown. Smolka up. Elliott has him back down. He’s got the back and looks to have a dangerous choke. Smolka escaped though. All that happened in the first 90 seconds of the round. Seriously. Elliott trapped an arm and landded a bunch of punches. Elliott moved to mount. Smolka spun out and looked for an ankle lock. Smolka took the top. Elliott reversed and passed to side control. This pace is absolutely unreal. They’re back on the feet halfway through the round. Smolka with a body kick. Elliott with a left and a single leg takedown. Smolka with a guillotine attempt and almost reversed position, but Elliott stayed on top and finally popped his head out. He immediately moved to mount and secured his own guillotine. It’s pretty deep. Smolka pulled his arm off. Elliott opened up with punches to the body. They end up in a crazy tangle of limbs at the end of the round. This is unbelievable. 10-9 Elliott I guess.

Round 3 – Smolka lands a couple of punches. Elliott gets a takedown, but only for 10 seconds or so. Smolka with some jabs. Elliott with a left and another takedown. Now he’s got a weird body lock over the head. Smolka scrambled back up though. Elliott with a beautiful head-and-arm throw straight to mount. He has a body triangle in mount. That’s crazy. Smolka scooted away, got back to his knees, and looked for a D’Arce choke. Elliott scooted away and they scramble back up. Smolka dropped him on his head and took his back. Elliott bulldozed his way back up, on top, looking for his own choke. They’re back to the feet with 35 seconds to go. Elliott with yet another takedown, Smolka up. Elliott with a nice elbow. Smolka with a head kick. Elliott with a takedown, Smolka reversed and looks for a north south choke at the horn. Give these men their bonus checks now. 10-9 and 30-27 Elliott.

Augusto Mendes vs. Aljamain Sterling

Round 1 – Sterling pumping the jab to the body and head. Mendes with a body kick. Sterling back to the body. Sterling ducks a punch and takes Tanquinho to the ground against the cage. Sterling staying active with a few body shots. Matt Serra is screaming. Tanquinho went for a leg lock but Sterling blatantly grabbed the top of the cage. Referee Mario Yamasaki didn’t seem to cage. They’re back on their feet. Tanquinho drops Sterling with a punch! He’s back up but Mendes immediately dropped for a guillotine, then a triangle. Sterling fought it off and stayed on top. but Tanquinho used an omoplata to sweep. Sterling eventually reversed back and landed a few punches from half guard. 10-9 Mendes.

Round 2 – Sterling with a left. Mendes misses with a winging right. Nice counter straight right from Sterling. Leg kick from AlJo. Sterling tied Tanquinho up against the against the cage and landed a few knees to the body. Shoulder check. Mendes reverses position in the clinch. He lands some knees now. He’s looking for a leg sweep but Sterling deftly stayed upright. Mendes has a body lock. More knees. Mendes gives up and separates. Sterling with two nice shots. Mendes looking tiredd now. Body kick and a combo from Sterling. Sterling with a beautiful trip takedown. Big elbow and hammerfists. 10-9 Sterling.

Round 3 – Sterling with a jab and an outside leg kick. Nice combo from AlJo. Mendes missing with his punches. Sterling with a huge left hook. Mendes throwing like a tried fighter. Mendes got a front headlock but Sterling pulled out. He pushed Tanquinho against the fence. Mendes reversed. After 20 seconds or so, Yamasaki pulled a Yamasaki and separated them. Mendes charges back in and got a body lock against the fence. Sterling with a few punches. Mendes is just holding him in place. Sterling with a knee to the body and spins Mendes into the cage. Sterling scoops a single and the go to the ground for a second, but pop back up. Sterling throwing down to the horn. Mendes can’t connect. 10-9 and 29-28 Sterling.

Devin Clark vs. Jake Collier

Round 1 – Clark immediately pushes Collier to the cage and looks for a takedown. Collier pushes him off and landed a knee. Nice combination stuns Clark. They tie up. Collier holds him against the cage and lands two knees. Clark with an uppercut. Collier exits and lands a spinning back kick to the body. Clark charges at him again with punches and they clinch up. Collier spins him around again. Knee and spinning elbow from Collier. Clark fires back in close. Clark throws a combo, gets the hips, and dumps Collier to the mat. Collier tried to soot up but it looked like he ate an illegal knee while on his knees. Apparently it was just the chest though. Collier got up. Clark cracked him and they clinched again. Body kick from Collier upon separation. 10-9 Collier, but close.

Round 2 – Collier with a body kick. Clark charged in again but didn’t land anything. Clark with an elbow and they clinch. Hard knee from Clark and they’re back at distance. Clark with a straight left and gets a body lock. Clark landed a hard knee directly to the cup. He gets a “hard warning” but no point deduction. Collier is back to action quickly though. Clark with a big left. Collier spins. Hard body kick from Clark. Uppercut from Collier. Clark with a head kick after a brief clinch. Clark charged in as Collier spun and almost got a takedown. Knee to the body from Collier. Clark finally gets a takedown and he worked from Collier’s back. Collier up after 30 seconds or so. Hard outside leg kick from Collier, Clark responded with a body kick. 10-9 Clark.

Round 3 – Collier pressing forward early with big punches. Clark circled out, charged forward, and got a big takedown. Collier back to his feet quickly but Clark held him against the cage. Clark backs off, misses with a big right, and Collier took his back. Clark reversed though, and got another takedown. That was nice. Clark to mount with over half the round left. Collier gives up his back. Big punches from Clark. Collier rolls back over and gets half guard back, but Clark is manhandling him. Elbows. Collier gets to his butt briefly, but Clark threatens with a choke and he has to turtle again. He finally got up with 45 seconds to go, but he’s just muscled back down. Punches from Clark. Collier trying to squirm away but Clark’s body lock has him immobilized. 10-9 and 29-28 Clark.

Andrew Sanchez vs. Anthony Smith

Round 1 – A lot of feinting early. Sanchez landed a right hook behind the ear. Smith landed a knee but Sanchez clinched up and got a trip takedown. Sanchez in side control near the fence. Smith gets back to half but he’s still pretty tied up against hte cage. Right as I say that, he hits a beautiful reversal. Smith on top in half now with a few body shots. Sanchez is trying to lock him down. Ref Keith Peterson stands them up quickly. Nice left from Smith on the restart. Head kick from Sanchez blocked. Pretty counter right from Sanchez. Followed it with a left. Spinning back fist from Sanchez connects hard. Two more counters as Smith charged in with a knee. 10-9 Sanchez.

Round 2 – Sanchez missed with a wild right and actually fell down. Smith kicked him and went on the chase but couldn’t connect with much. Nice combo from Sanchez, ending with a right hook. Inside leg kick from Smith got caught, but Sanchez couldn’t get him down. Smith lands a left to the head, then goes to the body. They clinch up. Smith with a knee to the body and spins out. Another right hook behind the ear over the top of the jab from Sanchez. Sanchez backs him up to the cage, lands a combo, and looks for a takedown. He drags him to his butt, then puts him on his back. Sanchez worked from half with punches. He took his back, but Smith stood up. Sanchez kicked out of his legs out though and got back control. That was very slick. Sanchez opens up with his hands. Lots of shots to the face and legs. 10-9 Sanchez.

Round 3 – Spinning back kick to the body from Sanchez. Smith fought off a takedown. Sanchez with a combo, Smith fires back with an elbow. Sanchez missed with a right and he got ripped by a Smith right hook. Sanchez with a head kick. Smith coming forward with punches, but not connecting a ton. Sanchez scoops a single but can’t do anything. Both men slowing down. Jumping knee to the body from Smith, and a head kick. Uppercut, but Sanchez fires back with a combo. Big right from Smith. He’s walking a tired Sanchez down. Sanchez winging single shots but Smith is easily moving away from them. Smith with a big combo chasing Sanchez across the cage! Head kick and Sanchez is hurt! He’s down against the cage and Smith pounded him out! WOW what a comeback! That was actually the knee that landed right to the jaw on the high kick.

Nathan Coy vs. Zak Cummings

Round 1 – Co with a body shot. Hard leg kick from Cummings. Cummings with a nice counter combo. Coy with a leg kick but eats a hard left hook. They’re really trading here. Coy missing wit ha lot of his strikes, while Cummings is landing. Low kick from Cummings. Two big lefts stun Coy. Cummings countering beautifully. Jab from Coy. Cummings with a left, and then the follow-up right puts Coy down to one knee. He’s back up. Leg kick from Coy, but straight left counter connects. Coy goes for a takedown, but Cummings pancakes him and lands body punches. He looks for a guillotine, and it’s very tight. He moves to mount and Coy is out cold, but the referee hasn’t noticed. Wow, he had to hold it for three or four more seconds before the ref noticed. That was a bit scary. But great win for Cummings.

Ashlee Evans-Smith vs. Ketlen Vieira

Round 1 – Evans-Smith with a front kick, Vieira firing back combinations right away. They clinch up. Knee to the body from Evans-Smith. They spin out rather quickly. Both land straight rights. Nice counter combo from Vieira. Evans-Smith scoring with her right but Vieira responds with a right uppercut and a flurry of punches. Vieira stuffs a shot and they clinch up. They trade knees. Evans-Smith exits with a nice right but again eats a combination for her troubles. Leg kicks from Evans-Smith. Body shot from Vieira. Nice body kick from Evans-Smith. Uppercut from Vieira. Hard knee from Evans-Smith and they’re back in the clinch. Vieira would have got a takedown but Evans-Smith held the top of the cage to stay upright. The ref missed it. Evans-Smith with a knee and a right. 10-9 Vieira.

Round 2 – Vieira got poked in the eye but the ref wouldn’t stop it. She responded with a solid right hook. Evans-Smith initiates the clinch but gets spun around. Vieira gets a body lock and looks for a takedown. And she does, then takes her back against the cage immediately with one hook. Evans-Smith got back up quickly but Vieira still had a hold of her. Evans-Smith pushes her away after a while. Evans-Smith with a leg kick. They trade jabs. More leg kicks. Vieira landed three rights hooks, the last of which backed Evans-Smith off. Huge combo from Vieira, ending with an uppercut. Again. All Vieira here. Evans-Smith with a right and a body kick. Takedown attempt stuffed by Vieira. 10-9 Vieira again.

Round 3 – Vieira digs to the body and fires off a bunch of punches. Evans-Smith with a kick. Vieira very active early. Jab from Evans-Smith. A right drops Vieira! She rolls through or immediately looked for a takedown. She may have been pushed to the floor instead of dropped, it was tough to see from the camera angle. Foot stomps from Vieira in the clinch. Knees to the butt. The referee separated them. Wasn’t really necessary, Vieira was active. Half-hearted shot from Evans-Smith gets nowhere. Solid right counter from Vieira. Leg kicks from Evans-Smith. Another. A spinning back fist lands for Evans-Smith. Vieira goes back to the right hook. They trade shots. Vieira with another counter combo. They throw to the horn. Good fight. 10-9 Evans-Smith, but 29-28 Vieira on my card.
