The Ultimate Fighting Championship had a busy Tuesday night announcing several matchups for upcoming events including the addition of two matches to the recently announced UFC on FOX Sports 1: Shogun vs. Sonnen event.

Squaring off in Boston will be English striker Brad ‘One Punch’ Pickett (23-7) who meets former bantamweight contender Michael ‘Mayday’ McDonald (15-2), while former Strikeforce fighter Ovince ‘OSP’ St. Preux (13-5) meets Cody Donovan (8-2) in a light heavyweight match.

The promotion confirmed those bouts as well as a match between Urijah Faber vs. Yuri Alcantara, on Twitter (@UFC).

UFC on Fox Sports 1: Shogun vs. Sonnen is expected to take place on August 17, 2013 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The headliner for the event, a light heavyweight bout between Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua vs. Chael Sonnen, was announced Tuesday night as well.

Pickett looks to make it two wins in a row after defeating Mike Easton by split decision in Sweden last April in the UFC on FUEL TV 9 “Fight of the Night” winning match. Prior to the victory ‘One Punch’ lost a split decision to current No. 1 bantamweight contender Eddie Wineland at UFC 155.

McDonald saw an eight fight win streak end at the hands of interim UFC bantamweight champ Renan Barão last February at UFC on FUEL TV 7. Four of those wins had come inside the Octagon with victories against Miguel Torres, Alex Soto, Chirs Cariaso and Edwin Figueroa.

OSP debuted with the UFC last April, winning a technical majority decision against Gian Villiante after the match was stopped in the third round after an accidental eye poke by St. Preux. The win was OSP’s second in a row with a knockout of TJ Cook in August of last year at a Strikeforce event.

Donovan also debuted with the UFC in his last match, making it four wins in a row by stopping Canadian fighter Nick Penner via first round TKO at UFC on FX 6 in Australia. The bout also earned Donovan the “Fight of the Night” bonus.
