UFC welterweight Mike ‘Quicksand’ Pyle (22-8-1) revealed his next opponent in a recent interview with FightChurchLasVegas earlier this week, identifying Josh ‘The Dentist’ Neer (33-10-1) as his adversary for the UFC on FX 3 show in June.

UFC on FX 3 is expected to take place on June 8, 2012 with fans voting for the host city through the Hometown Throwdown contest. The event will host the other semi-final bout of the four-man flyweight tournament to crown the first UFC 125-lbs champion, featuring a rematch between Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall.

Pyle competed in Brazil this past January, earning the only win by a non-Brazilian fighter on the UFC 142 card. ‘Quicksand’ earned a first round TKO win over Ricardo Funch, erasing a previous TKO loss to Rory MacDonald at UFC 133. Pyle is 4-1 in his last five Octagon appearances.

Neer rides a six fight win streak into the match, having won two of those in the Octagon. Neer earned a technical submission over Duane Ludwig in January at the UFC on FX 1 show in Nashville. Previous to that he stopped Keith Wisniewski in October via doctor stoppage at the UFC on Versus 6 show. This is the fourth run for Neer in the UFC.
