For this past weekends UFC on FX 6 event in Gold Coast, Australia the Ultimate Fighting Championship promotion has opted for self-regulation when it came to medical suspensions.
All twenty competitors received a 21-day mandatory suspension, while a total of seven fighters received suspensions up to 180 days unless cleared by a physician.
Included in that list of seven fighters includes the TUF: The Smashes season winner Robert Whittaker, along with Rousimar Palhares, Chad Mendes, Joey Beltran, Mike Pierce, Brendan Loughnane and Mike Wilkinson.
UFC on FX 6 took place on December 15, 2012 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Australia. Due to the difference in time zones the event aired live in North America on Dec. 14.
The medical suspensions were posted by MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday night after receiving the list from UFC officials.

Robert Whittaker: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a negative right hand x-ray.
Rousimar Palhares: Suspended for 180 days unless his right foot is cleared by an orthopedic doctor.Preliminary Card (Fuel TV)
Chad Mendes: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a negative left foot x-ray.
Joey Beltran: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a negative right hand x-ray.
Mike Pierce: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a Maxillofacial surgeon. Faces a minimum suspension of 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
Brendan Loughnane: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a negative left foot x-ray.
Mike Wilkinson: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a negative TMJ x-ray.
